I'm holding off for the mo.... pre-ordered MS Megatron but debating whether I wait for MS Seekers... My carbots will be mostly New Age with MS Prime, so maybe MS Megatron with New age seekers will work too.  

 

TF Direct too - they also have one for the Coneheads, so wondering if that’ll be a 3 pack, and maybe SW & TC in a 2 pack?

 

Really don't know what to do about seekers and coneheads now... New Age or MS...

I am probably doing that this time. When it was IF vs. DX9 each company's Seekers were different enough for some double dipping.
I am guessing paint, materials and size will be the biggest differences this time so it will be down to each person's individual preferences. NewAge and Magic Square haven't made any lemons yet.

i think NA has the best bot mode hands down. it is such an updated and clean look. my only gripe is the coneheads or just heads in general are a tad too big.

 

This is pretty much my planned approach. Each version has it pluses and minuses from what I can tell so far. For example, I've come to really appreciate the cleaner back of the NA mold, but -- like @Cha Chi -- I appreciate how the null rays on the MST version can be rotated from the side of the arm to the top. I've had issues with the proportions of some of NA's figs in the past -- e.g. as awesome as they otherwise are, NA Datsuns are too squat for my taste -- but that doesn't look like it will be the case here with Starscream. So in the end, I think it'll probably come down to size. If NA's bots are big enough, say DX9 Seeker size, I think I'll probably end up going with them. If not, MST.

Oh heck, I'll probably end up getting both!   Which I've done in the past with NA and MST justifying it thusly: in general, I find NA alt modes superior to MST and MST bot proportions superior to NA. So: MST for bot mode, NA for alt-mode. Keeping NA in bot mode also lets me use their awesome headsculpts on my MST bots if need be (as that's another area in which NA generally outshines MST).

Yes indeed. I personally am leaning towards NA everything. Main issue being the prospect of zero nullray action on 6 seekers is very dissapointing. Other than that it is little concerns.

One thing i notice if you look at the pictures is the seekers are probably very small. There cannot be easily scaled because they are positioned away from megs, ss on the flight stand) but looking at coneheads they look a head smaller than megs(guesstimation). Therefore as predicted smaller than dx9s... once again NA really working off the g1 scale chart like insecticons size, the seekers are a clear head smaller megs.

 

man i would hate for them to be smaller than the dx9 seekers if that is the case im out. also, if they are a head smaller than megs that would be a little weird as well.

 

I was one of the chumps who got the TRU MP Screamer, and while i love his weird rotating face and bright show colors, he doesnt get all of the slick accessories that the regular MP one has, mainly the coronation set. Im stoked to grab this fig when it comes out to get a little bit of king Starscream on display somewhere in my shelf! I dont have many legends figures, but between this announcement and Iron Factories Bludgeon they have coming out, i cant not pick these up.

 

I'm expecting (hoping?) they'll at least be as big as their Ironhide/Ratchet. I'm not sure how that mold sizes up to a DX9 Seeker but I used a recent pic by @chuckcjc (R) and one of my olds ones (L) for a quick and dirty. Of course an actual pic of Ironhide/Ratchet with a Seeker would be much more helpful. Can anyone help a brother out?

Well you would think they would be bigger than vanbros, but how much? Bare in mind we dont know how big their megs is and that is important for finally getting the measure of Newage.



It looks like their is a difference even taking the angle into consideration, it looks likes if you slid ramjet up next to megs his point tip would not go over the top of megs head. Looks like it will be more like the scale chart below(note on the chart the cones look bigger than ss). I dunno, i am guessing but it feels like they wont be hugely bigger than than the vanbros.



I suppose megs could be a height inbetween dx9 dutch and MS prime. Still think the seekers will be smaller than dx9 seekers taken into account the old dx9 figures look fatter than the newages. Auch just thinking out loud. We will have to wait see.

 

ugg...i cant ever go off of scale charts. hopefully he will be the same size as dutch and the seekers will stay the same as the old ones as well. if that is the case i am in.

 

Someone show us a photo of NA vanbros, dx9 seeker and dutch please.

 

If my black one would just get here from ShowZ. Unfortunately it was lost in the mail for a week and had to be resent.

 

Do that when you get a chance please. Though think i will still scratch my head not knowing how tall megs is next to released figures.
