If Seige (WfC) is just going to be rehasing characters who already have good CHUG toys, I'm going to pass on it. Honestly I'm pretty much done with G1 collecting once I finish Abominus, get UW Computron and a few of the 84/85 characters I missed.

I don't get how anyone can think POTP Optimus is "definitive" in any way. Like, do y'all not care that Prime is made from the full cab and trailer? I mean... he's cool as a novelty, but the gimmick only makes sense on Rodimus...

Eh, Classics Optimus exists, the only other Optimus that is relevant to me is PM Optimus, but that's as Ginrai, a totally separate character.

I think for some people, it’s nice to have the trailer and that iconic robot mode, while also not worrying about where to put the trailer on the shelf.

You're doing yourself a disservice, EVERY deco of that mold is fantastic. I need to eventually nab Botcon Ginrai, United Magnus and that Magna Convoy repaint. Ideally I'd swap out my Classics Prime for the one from that TRU two pack a few years ago, but it isn't necessary so I don't stress.

When it comes to G1 updates, you can’t do a figure and not do it’s original repaints, and that is something worrying me going forward.

I will buy the new Prowl, Ironhide, and Sideswipe without a second thought, but if we don’t get Bluestreak, Smokescreen, Ratchet, or Red Alert, whats the point?

Generations, as it exists right now, attempts to take a slightly modernized take on the same G1 character while retaining a very G1 aesthetic and design. Theres no point making an amazing new Sideswipe if you also don’t make a Red Alert out of it. That defeats the whole purpose of it. True Generations does take some liberties, but theres a difference in Hot Rod being a Headmaster(which is unnoticable in robot mode) and Red Alert and Sideswipe sharing two completly different designs.

    You mean this one, right?

Yeah, this one is fantastic and incredibly accurate, but over the years of lurking this board, I've become attached to the original Classics deco. If this were a perfect world, I'd have that one, SG Prime, Magna Convoy, and trailers for all three of them. Sadly, I'm as broke as a G2 Slingshot, so it'll probably be a long time till I own all of those. I'd at least try to track the Classics one down, but I've been saving for a laptop and I'm trying to avoid blowing money on figures I'll have more chances for later on...

I'm usually on board for how most Hasbro designs look, but how they're executed is another matter. We don't know what that thing's plastic quality is going to be like or whether or not they're using those damned foil stickers for the details. The design looks nice as CGI, but as a toy it remains to be seen. That said, I like the design and it could be better than the Classics version, especially since it appears to have ankle tilt.

I don't know if this'll be unpopular or tick someone off or not... but I'm kinda enjoying all this hype and stuff around the Prime Wars Trilogy figures. Yes, Blast-off is being weird, but it's super cool that they just kinda popped up without warning for pre-order, there's a decent enough time between releases to really savor them, and there's shirts, too?!?!

That's the one. I'd swap out my '06 Classics for that, but it's a tad pricy still for me...

Here's my unpopular opinion. I like a whole lot better POTP Starscream than Elita 1. Maybe its just my copy, but my Elita feels like a KO of Starscream. Loose joints, lighter plastic, worst stickers, etc.

I don't like and don't want the Nemesis version of PotP Optimus Prime. In my head, Optimus is incorruptible, which is one of the reasons why the other Primes let him keep coming back to life.

If I somehow got a hold of that version anyway, I guess I'd say it's an evil clone of Optimus. I'm not gonna seek it out, though. I'd rather have Blastoff, Wreck-gar, and Punch-Counterpunch.

Nemesis Prime IS an evil clone of Optimus Prime. It's only in the stupid Micheal Bay movie that Nemesis Prime was a corrupt Optimus and he wasn't even a black repaint. Every other Nemesis Prime has been a totally different character.

I think part of the hype comes from the fact that we got the entire PotP line basically spoiled for us last year, so having something surprise us like these (especially Repugnus and Punch/Counterpunch) has been refreshing.

This. Seems like all the TF lines (chug and mp) get apoiled 6-12 months in afvance so there are usually no surprises- only waiting
