    That's not how scale works.

    Try again.

The CW version's toy-accurate coloring is just about my favorite thing about that mold. :)  (again, I don't own the G1, I only have my memories of playing with my friend's, but I knew it was pretty close)

BTW---Toyhax's "chrome gold" sticker set looks AMAZING on the CW mold. Probably the biggest improvement I've ever seen from a sticker sheet. Can you guys send a test-shot to Toyhax as early as you can, so they can get started making some chrome-gold windows/tiling for it? (unless you guys can get the factory paint to have the same effect) (SkyLynx is very much a blinged-out bot, "metallic paint" doesn't have the same effect as his G1 foil stickers)

I really need a Sky Lynx in my life. Hoping to see more of this at TFCon Chicago.

Honestly, I'm not even sure you could physically fit it in. Maybe in shuttle mode, but in Sky Lynx mode he's huge.

I don’t really get why people thinks that this needs to be MP scale. The reformatted line has always been chug scale-ish. The only one that matches MP scale is carnifex but that’s because Overlord was a huge guy in the IDW comics.

Either way I dig the design of this Skylinx and will happily display him with my Generations, Combiner Wars, Titans Return, Power of the Primes and 3rd party chugs.

I’m sure Fans Toys will make a Skylinx at some point because with this guy being released other companies are gonna make their own version of Skylinx...which means there will be another war with Mr. British Bird-cat-Sphinx thing...Jolly Good Show.

Yep, I knew I was stretching it a bit with my post. People will have to put this on top of their display cases. He's a big mamma-jamma

Magna Inventa works for MP, but just at the shorter edges of the scale for a character who must mass shift on a regular basis to be a troop carrier.

But, for anyone still wondering, fuzzy draggo’ is intended to challenge MMC’s Feral Rex, and, thus, is better for CHUG or for being even more in scale with the larger end of SkyLynx’s mass shifting when set amidst legends figures!

Now, I don’t know that CHUG and Legends accounts for half of 3P collections, but I would think that their plurality comes close.

Then again, I just purchase figures that look good to me, no matter the size, since I’m not interested in a season wide collection at any scale.

Huh, well you ought to tell Hasbro, Takara, Sunbow, and every TF comic publisher about that. Because if they (the actual creators of the things *you're* a fan of) didn't care enough about scale to be consistent, then your opinion about "what scale is," or "how it should work" is just that: your opinion.

    the-dude.jpg

If scale has a certain set of rules in your head canon, then more power to you, dude. Go crazy. Make your collection match your preferences all day long.

But don't come in here telling us all that you're the arbiter of "how scale works." Because if the companies above couldn't be bothered to do it right, neither should you. :rolleyes2

That is definitely how scale works. I am the Lord and Mater of my transformer universe and the size of my bot is what I say. If you want to go by Cartoon. If you look hard enough you can find a panel that fixes your idea of scale

Lol, I don’t think he meant in relation to transformers, but in what the term actual means. If i design a building and make a model in 1:60 scale, the items in 1:60 scale it’s not whatever I want it to be, they have to be a certain size. Preference is want ever I want it to be.

Sure. And in a fandom where ~90% of the source material was consistent within itself, I would agree.

But Transformers have rarely been consistent. None of the source material (toys, cartoons, comics, etc.) have ever been consistent with each other, let alone themselves internally.

Now, If you were to tell me that you were collecting in 1:60 scale with something that has always been the same size, I would applaud you. Real life items, or high-consistency fiction (like SW or MCU) can have a 1:60 scale, because they were already consistent. But with TFs, all bets are off.

    I would assume so, @GrimLocke .
I don't know anything about how carefully Gundam or Macross have stuck to their scales across various media.
