Cool title huh?

I've been away from this site for a while (simply because I barely buy any Transformers these days), but the news of a Combiner Wars Devastator made me interested in that figure (couldn't care less about the other combiners).

I have now watched SIX reviews for Devastator, and FIVE out of the SIX have had issues with Bonecrusher's crotch staying together.

There was another video (so it would have been #6 out of 7) but apparently it was removed from YouTube for some reason. It was from Australia, I do remember that.

Benscollectibles is the only one so far who doesn't have an issue with the figure. Is he lucky?



Now, is it because most of you will be having your Devastator in combined mode, and therefore don't care about this GLARING issue...or is it that most of you have NO CLUE about this problem? I'm pretty sure that this problem will also carry over to the Takara version as well.

For me, this problem will keep me from buying it. Unless Hasbro fixes it (HA! Yeah right! Just like how they fixed Generations Blitzwing huh?) or a fan finds a fix (Just like how they did for Blitzwing) then I'll consider buying one.

I've only seen Ben's review and that first chinese review, but Ben's really gave a good look at how Bonecrusher's crotch pieces tab together. It's a bit more than simply sticking tab A into hole B. Makes wonder me if the other reviewers were doing something wrong in the rush to review it and get their vids online.

 

I wondered that as well. I even asked Ben in the YouTube comments about just that. Haven't had an answer yet.

As for the others doing something wrong. If you watch the parts that I marked, they go into detail about how they are trying to make it work, but it just won't stay together. Plus, can all five be messing up, and only one can figure it out correctly? We'll see how the numbers play when more and more reviews are released.

Oh, and I added another video review to the list.

 

Just reading the title made me laugh for no real reason, also I dont know why but I really like how they all look in hand and see no real problems execpt shoulders, Bonecrusher looks perfect.

 

I watched Ben's review again, and if you watch very closely at 10:30-10:35 you can see the crotch come undone while he shows leg articulation.

So right now, I have yet to see a video where the crotch is in place the whole time.

 

Ankle tits, elbow-gate and now crotch-disgrace! For SHAME Hasbro!

 

I'd like to think no one is complaining because they realize complaining about a crotch on a toy for 12 year olds is ******ed but I'm sure once it's released people will bitch like Transformers were ruined 4evur. Again.

 

I'm thinking because it takes 2 seconds to click it together that's why.

If that one thing would keep you from buying an entire set I think you need to make your own transformers so everything will be just the way you like it.

Also, my Doubldealer didn't have that Blitzwing problem, so they did fix it.

It's pretty easy people can miss things a lot before some one figures out a way to fix it or how it seems it should work especially if instructions don't list it.

 

I mentioned it recently when I noticed it hadn't stayed togethe rin one of my photos. Its annoying, to be sure, but so minor and forgettable its not a make or break issue with the figure.

 

as someone with a titan devi. because its in devastator mode 100% of the time and there for i don't notice.

i've actually given up all hope for devastator. you got one version that's completely butchered with no articulation at all.

and you got another version with that articulation added back in, but that articulation is on what appear to be very weak joints. with scrapper, one of those joints is going to be holding up the entire 6 figures. as a heel support.

and i can not buy these toys separately. it is an all or none deal. and you know there is going to be QC issues with these joints.

so, if i am going to spend 150 dollars on a devastator, i'd rather buy an original. at least i know that original will still be standing in 20 years.

 

It also might be that these devys were early factory samples, or fresh off the line. It might just need a little super glue to tighten up the pegs. Guess we'll find out...

 

Huh. I've watched most of these reviews and didn't pick up on Bonecrusher's splitting crotch for some reason. Kind of reminds me of Titanium Megatron, which is hardly a good thing. Hopefully this doesn't wind up being a widespread problem, but given Hasbro's recent track record with similar design oversights (i.e. Blitzwing's shoulders and Jetfire's hips) I'm not going to hold out much hope.
