Wow, talk about a negative reaction. I think both of these guys look great, and will look even better after reprolabels gets ahold of them.

 

Sideswipe looks really cool. Jazz looks like a chinese knock-off toy.

 

Reprolabels will make or break Jazz - as is, there's far too little paint to break up all that white. Heck, I had difficulty making out the details in the shot of his back, he's just so underpainted!

Sideswipe, on the other hand, almost makes the mark for me. Good body proportions (surprisingly), neat alt. mode that seems reminicent of blocky 80's supercars (always a plus), but while I don't dislike the Japanese writing on him, it seems like he's trying too hard to be like IDW G1 Drift's toy. Additionally, that head is derpy as hell which really puts me off of getting him (*crosses fingers the prospective retool isn't as awful looking*) and those doors...really, Hasbro? Really? Prime Knock Out was a lower quality figure than this (seriously, he got a pokey stick for a weapon and almost no paint to speak of in robot mode - and what he did get was the wrong color!) but his forearms are just his doors folded in half. Sideswipe here really should have those doors folding in on the arms in a similar manner, that would reduce the otherwise large and awkward kibble hanging off them which unquestionably is going to collide with a bunch of other bits on his body...along with the fact Sideswipe rather blatantly resembles Knock Out in every other way as it stands between the long face and the street tuner deco.

 

Wow, Sideswipes head looks worse in 3D than it does in the show, i wouldn't have thought that was possible. Can't even believe that design was approved at the concept stage. Otherwise, car mode and the rest of the bot mode is decent, Like the big Tire shoulders and doors on the forearms.

Jazz looks pretty good, but again, weird head: actually reminds me of a dinobot with that oversized helmet: Snarl or Sludge maybe? Car modes kinda "blah" though, not feeling the extreme tapering of the cabin from the wheel wells.

 

Ok, so how they could stretch to giving Sideswipe his kanji in both modes, but couldn't give Strongarm or Bumblebee their proper stripes? I think Sideswipe's actually pretty striking there, Jazz is really disappointing, even having seen how sparsely decoed the others are in person.

Still, Sideswipe has my favourite alt mode of the cars in the show, so maybe I'll pick him up and get legends Fixit when he comes out as he actually seems pretty decent all things considered.

 

Lookin forward to Sideswipe!  

Is there anything else planned after these guys?   No voyagers, no deluxe decepticons except for Steeljaw so far. This is the like the smallest line of toys they've done for a main series.

 

The head sculpts are awful. I can't stand the overly cartoony look. ARWWW! The the circle things bug me too. Pass. I hope these get some repaints and resculpts at some point.

 

Both look terrible.

Guess Hasbro's 1st quarter boost due to TF is despite this crummy line.

 

I'm surprised by how uninspired all the new RID Warrior cars are. They more or less all transform the same. I'm sure there would be a way to get some cool asymmetrical designs à la RID 2000 without any excessive complexity.

 

Sideswipe is ok, but Jazz is awfully paintless...

 

Who cares about these when Combiner Wars is hitting grand slams every time!?!?!

 

I don't like Sideswipe's "side-smirk/smile" and wish Jazz had his visor. I'm curious if Takara will make any significant changes to Jazz.

Sideswipe looks good. Jazz's decent.. if he had more paint. He looks like a kid lost interest putting stickers on him halfway.

 

Jazz looks better than he initially did but damn that Sideswipe is sooooo good Sunstroke redeco pls.

 

This line gets shit on quite a bit, but I'm digging it for the most part. I will say, don't overpay for this line however. It's a good, fiddle line, and these two seem to keep that going.

 

Well not really considering the Warriors are only part of a bigger line that includes the legions, one steps and three steps. It's different to what's gone before, but there you have it. Not really any different to a lot of other toy lines really, that have the same few characters, all represented in a variety of sizes and price points. Though another Decepticon in the warrior size class wouldn't be a bad idea...

 

Shoulda been called overdrive and downshift. Calling them sideswipe and jazz is just wrong.

 

Sideswipe looks really nice looking, I might buy him, Jazz on the other hand is very bland, will be passing on him.
