Part of the reason why I didn't preorder the game to begin with... I figured something like this will happen.

If the game goes for dirt cheap later in its life, I might consider picking up, then maybe the Weathered Warrior Pack (skipping Stinger, based on above comments), but as it stands, it's a huge skip for me. I had hoped for competitive multiplayer when it was first announced, and knowing that not only does it not have that, but there are buttloads of other problems, I won't be getting this game for its current prices. It's a crying shame, because War for Cybertron was the game that finally convinced me to get an Xbox, and I was a huge fan of Fall of Cybertron, despite its quibbles.

TL;DR: they need to let High Moon stick to making Transformers games. New developers suck badly.

The game was horrible compared to WFC and FOC. High Moon Studios may have screwed themselves with Deadpool, but they made some KICK ASS games in the other two and even DOTM's game was actually pretty decent. I know High Moon isnt in the best of financial situations right now, but the passion they put into making WFC and FOC and the fun they had making it and just how much care and research they put into Transformers and the lore and just making beautiful games like WFC and FOC, they really should have exclusive rights to make the games, and if they go under, some other company that Activision has NO say in choosing. I was so sad to hear High Moon wasn't making ROTDS. The cyberton levels are decent, but my god the Earth levels are atrocious. They essentially made a chapter to the WFC/FOC universe that wasn't needed or EVER EVER should have happened, EVER. We wanted a sequel of Fall Of Cybertron, not the pile of crap we did get. *Que slow clap* Thank you Activision and Hasbro for your "wonderful" handling of this. I have ROTDS, but my lord its such a step down. Was planning on buying Stinger, but now, ill keep the money.

Arkham Asylum? You do realize I said "99%", right?   Cause, I love how you dissuade me from my war-weary cynicism with... one example!   Haha! Actually, you could have just said, "GoldenEye", but maybe you're not old enough to appreciate that one?

Anyway, I have no idea what the f*ck RoDS was about. It kind of chugged along without much... wait... something about how the TF lore needed the DARK version of the Matrix of Leadership? Yeah... gonna call this one: lazy, horrible writing. Seriously, did someone scribble that on a cocktail napkin while drinking all night, not showing up for work, and then getting screwed by a deadline he should have paid more attention to?  

But one other thing? F*CK ARMADA. That game was HORRIFIC. I don't know what the hell the rest of you played, but it was another Atari piece of sh*t that played like every other game Atari has made (the new Atari, not the console Atari). It was unplayable - I couldn't get more than the Tidal Wave boss battle before tossing my controller in rage. I can't remember if it was broken controls or horrible difficulty, but the game really did blow.

And I really did want to enjoy that brilliant Tidal Wave, colossus battle... but the game was seriously unplayable!

Umm I LOVED The armada game. I have no idea what you're talking about. It handled just fine for me. Without cheats. I hated how they didn't get the voice actors from the show but dammit it was still fun as hell. It was a great game. If they can bring it back with Multiplayer and DLC including all the other characters from Armada then holy hell will I squeal.

Still remember my first time playing as him. My finger laying on the transform button about to witness the awesomeness of the transformation and Pagani alt mode. I hit the button and..... Recycled transformation without the Transformium particle thing plus a cheap knock off of a mix between a Ferrari and Pagani.

I don't give a wet fart what anyone says. ROTF is the best TF game. I loved WFC and FOC..but to me, those were COD-esque games with TFs in them.

EDIT..actually..if your gamertag is megatron something, im pretty sure we played together a few times.

 

I have to agree about the ROTF game, it's still the only game to actually make you feel like a Transformer. I also loved how each robot actually felt unique, everyone had their own weapons from the movies, their own melee moves and individual takedowns too.

I wish we had got a few more games out of that engine.

Agreed, not even FOC had the power to make stuff feel that unique... Sure we could make our own Transformers but those in the end were just over-glorified skins.

I think the engine was actually the unreal engine but used better then it was in FOC.

Ya, we did want that, but not a game with terrible level design, lackluster story, and so much more lack of efforts.
We deserve better then to get a shitty excuse of a game like this.

ROTF is still the best and it's good to be the king  

 

Playing ROTF online was fun back in the day, but if I ever try to find a game on PS3 nowadays, all I find is free-for-all matches where a bunch of tossers team up in the middle of the map and gang up on everyone else.

Like, way to ruin the game for everyone else. If they want to play as a team, why don't they go play a bloody team game-mode?
