Damn straight. When I saw that Q*Bert had a prominent role, I prayed that the movie would be good, as Q*Bert is my favorite all-time game. Fortunately I really liked it. It's not quite as good as Disney's best, but I think it's only just a notch below that. IMO much better than Frozen. I love all the little nods they throw in, like the Pac-Man Fever-esque Buckner & Garcia song during the end credits.
after buying some furnitures, i have many of my home consoles set up on 4 TVs. Gen 8 and Gen 7 consoles are set up in my bedroom with HDMI televisions while gen 6 and gen 5 are in the living room with older televisions. played a little bit of Medievil 2 on PS1. WTF happened to the camera!? ah well. been dying to play it for a long time.
I'm going to need new HDMI and component switches for my living room. The Analogue Nt occupies the final slot on my existing HDMI switch as it is, so my next "modern" console will demand a better solution--and keep in mind I still haven't bought a PS3 or X360! Component will be an issue once I get my HD Retrovision cables for my SNES, Genesis, and Master System.
those who have a ps2, has anyone experienced the Red Screen of Death? i never heard of this until just now on Facebook, as i can tell, it appears when you place a disc that is not readable, not a ps1 game, not a ps2 game, not a dvd/cd. it says to place a PS1, PS2 format disc which scared me because i thought a disc came with the system that i have no idea where it can be. there is also a equivalent of the RSoD on the ps1 called the Black Screen of Death.
I've gotten the "disc not readable" screen on the PS2 before but it's always been the fault of a scratched up disc. When my the drive on my previous PS2 died, the machine couldn't tell that there was a disc at all.
Btw how do you guys prevent or convince someone from supporting digital downloads? The wife keeps on buying tons of digital games. It's hard to say no when the games are at brown man pricing. 2$ games?! Man. It's hard to combat digital copies. What do I say? Is there a way to remove the stores from my consoles? I want our physical copy collection to grow but it's hard to argue with the wife when it comes to digital copy pricing. I know this is also counter intuitive but I ran out of space now... any recommendations on getting a external hard drives for multiple systems? I'm losing the battle but the war isn't over yet.
Its even harder in the PC world when places like steam and their competitors offer huge discounts/sales/promo codes over any retail prices. I'd say of the 100+ PC games I own I have about 6 physical games. Its just a different beast there. So IMO digital isn't a terrible thing, and if you get 80-90% discounts, by all means go for it. But even if that happens and I enjoy the game, I still try to pick up a physical copy down the road once amazon clearances it or it ends up in a bargain bin. Maybe just slightly change your mindset and think of digital games as "renting" them (for probably about the same price bbv used to charge ) and you will pick them up in physical form at a later date once you find a good deal. It seems less like digital games are ebola if you look at it like that.
What are the chances these places close down and I lose my investment? The most recent game bought was Yakusa V. Apparently you can't get it anywhere else. So this is happening now? Some games are now only available through digital download?
well, steam isn't going anywhere and I'm sure last I checked sony and M$ will be around for awhile. I think you're good there. Nintendo? Oh I won't answer that or I'll get the fanboys riled up in here too
You sound like the wife right now with digital download arguments. :banghead Need counter arguements. See now this is helping. Thanks. Oh by chance we got two Zelda 3DS and refuses to buy a physical copy of the game. I might have to finally put my foot down on that and just fucking get it.
If everyone stopped supporting this, it would be easy to abolish this. I boycott Steam and everything that has DRM in it. As a result I had to stop buy any games for PC. In this day and age it's easier to pirate games, but I don't do that. I love my physical game collection as much as my Transformers, vinyl, books, mangas, comics, CDs. I have much more music on my PC in MP3. But I'm more proud of my CDs and vinyl. Especially because a lot of them are limited or even rare. It takes effort to get a good collection of music on physical media. At least if you have good taste in music. I bought some games on PSN because they were either cheap or digital download only, but I stopped looking there, because I already have so much games, that probably in 10 years I still will not have played all the games. With the 3DS I got lucky. Got the Zelda 3DS on Amazon without the digital game for cheaper and then bought the game as a module
I can't remember the last time I bought a physical game, everything is going digital now. It's way easier and I don't have to worry about storing discs, or them getting wrecked or stolen. For whatever reason I do lose it, I just download it again.
Lost at WM again. I had DK country Wii in my basket. Wife told we got the digital download for free with the coins we earned awhile back...
