Okay I realize I am about 20 years late on this LOL but I bought this game for Easter for my boy to play ( its his first game ) since he loves g1.

WOW this game is like a G1 fans Dream game ! I love it. So many characters from the cartoon show up its GREAT.

Im not a big gamer , obviously, but this is by far the only TF game I have ever been satisfied with.

I just wish there was a cheat code or something that could unlock all of the characters so my boy can play with all of them

Right now I have to play the difficult sections of the game to get him the next character and as I said before I am not a big gamer so its tough for me.

anyone else have this game ? I seriously love it, so much joy watching him play it and myself play it as well too.

I don't own it, but I've emulated it a few times and it seemed alright enough. Controls are a little weird but I dealt with it just to be able to play as Wheeljack in a video game. It reminded me of a slower version of Dynasty Warriors, almost.

Wow, where did this come from!?

The voice actors and music are a little wonky (and I know I'm hearing a celeb voice for Jazz but I can't place the name) but the game looks like a slick G1 dream! All the seekers are there! This really came out 20 years ago? Someone had their finger on something that could have been awesome!

I'm watching game footage vids on Youtube. I'd post the vids here, but I don't know how to embed. Thanks for sharing this! Its really cool looking!

Here's a link to the game trailer! Pure G1 awesomeness!

Uhhh. This game was terrible. Its only saving grace was you get a lot of lesser known characters join you if you continue playing after finishing the main campaign. The combat was clunky and slow. Transforming was useless. And it gets boring after the 5th decep/autobot you defeat. Those mine stages were annoying as well.

It really is pure g1 awesomeness. I cant believe this didnt come out in the states.

The voice acting leaves much to be desired but man if they had more professional voice acting done, wow that would have been icing on the cake. Still its a g1 dream

I dont know exactly when it came out, but its PS2 so its been a while at least.

Were going to have to agree to disagree . I have found transforming back and forth to be incredibly useful and it has not been boring for my son and I. But again were not gamers, maybe to gamers its bad, but to a guy who normally doesnt play games, its so much fun to play

the only complaint I have is there is no cheat unlock of all the characters

You'd hear more about it if it were a good game. But it was panned by everyone including fans.

Cool. I tolerated it because it had lotsa G1 characters. But objectively, TF Armada was a better game (despite it being based on Armada and only having 3 characters playable).

I saw that armada game and played it once, but just had zero interest in Armada so never picked it up again. But with this CALL OF THE FUTURE games, its so much fun seeing all these g1 characters I just love watching my son play (and me helping him at times) and seeing all these guys pop up.

its the only TF game I have EVER been happy that I bought it

Have you tried war for cybertron and fall of cybertron? Those are good games that feature g1 characters (though in their cybertronian forms).

yeah a little, like twice i think, but only vaguely interested in it. Its just WAY TOO MUCH of a departure for me from the g1 cartoon look most of the time.

I like watching the movie scenes though . those are nice.

Just not willing to spend money on a game that doesnt touch all the nostalgic buttons. Again just not a gamer .

Gameplay is dodgy, the storyline is... well, bad, but given the time it came out, it's a really interesting game and I'm amazed it never got brought over later.

Well ROTDS, while pure shit, left off with a possible G1 game cliffhanger. If a good enough developer were to take up the task, we could have a good G1 game.

I'm also curious as to where I can get this despite being in the states. Would love to play it for the sake of it being G1.

This game was all the rage a few years ago. I didn't personally like it, but it's a pretty cool novelty item. The intro was easily the best part. You showed that to people back then and they were like "that what I want from a new series".

I will say, I still enjoy the Armada game. Much more so than this. It was a shame it was Armada though as it doesn't have the lasting appeal of other TF series. But, for it's time, it was a pretty impressive game.

What I disliked about this game was that close combat was the best avenue to go with. Shooting sucked unless it was the AI. The Headmaster characters were damn near unbeatable on easy just because they'd pepper you with shooting that was way more powerful than yours.

Past that, it was a good attempt at a G1 game for its time. And I don't go by critical response when it comes to games. Onimusha was lauded as a great game, and it's damn near unplayable.

Its extremely terrible gameplay but is saved by the dozens of characters you can unlock and all of the cutscenes that are fun to watch. The voice acting is terribad but its bordering on so bad its good type of bad that you want to watch it anyway.

Personally I love playing as the Gunformers Sixshot, Megs, Shockwave. Real fun to play as a hovering gun and obliterating everything in front of you after one shot.

One cutscene there was a huge tease. Trypticon shows up and you get all excited that you unlocked him to play as, but instead he gives you Full Tilt! LOL

I remember my full-on panic moment when Predaking drops out of the sky into the arena. I came up to his knee. All I could think of was "What the fuck am I supposed to do to THAT?!?!?!?!"

Also, take note that if you want all the unlockable characters, you'll have to play through both the Autobot AND the Decepticon missions twice.
