hey, thanks for the heads-up on that BT Nemesis Prime aution. Not sure I'd get it now seeing my long list of pre-ordered goodies from now till November! appreciate the gesture of letting me know, man.
Oh, my message at the start is literally the first paragraph of the article I have linked to. No offence taken, incidentally It's been some years that I have wanted to find and open a BT-17, so it's not something I have recently justified to myself, I made the decision a number of years ago, I just had to find and purchase/trade for one which I finally did and it arrived last week. In fact, that whole section was quite the opposite of a personal justification - I wrote it out as a form of defending my decision against those that may call me irresponsible or have a problem with me opening it. Those who know me, know full well I can't keep a toy sealed. I need to dissect it. If I had no problem taking $1000+ diaclones out and transforming them repeatedly for articles, this toy was a no-brainer. As for whether I like it or love it, oh now that's a different discussion. All the best Maz
I opened mine when I first got it years ago. I opened the package carefully and put some 3M locking tape around the edges so the plastic dome can reseal and hold. I had no idea the figure's price would hit four digits. Not that I regret opening it. I open all of my stuff.
If you open a sealed BT-17, you're going to burn in a very special level of hell. A level they reserve for child molesters and people who talk at the theater. Just kidding. Personally I'm happy with the alternators version, but glad you got one back.
nice read, I was never a fan of this box style, the proper boxes that the binaltech were great and even the alternators boxes had a cool retro vibe to them, don't know why Hasbro decided they needed to bring alternators into line with the cybertron packaging. Regarding the mould, I always thought it the worst Binaltrch had to offer, the amount of unintegrated kibble was atrocious, pain to get lined up for vehicle mode and the legs did not extend nearly far enough upwards to make it seem tall enough for it's bulk.
It's a mold I keep intending to sell (I own the BT Convoy) but can't because despite it's shortcomings it's a lovely chunk of burglarkill. Well in Maz.
Being an Alt/BT collector, this is one piece I will never get unless I run into a lot of money. When it first came out, I wasn't even spending the $200 or so price tag a lot of these collector items were going for. I'll do that now on the MPs, but since this is way out of my range now, I'll probably never get one. Congrats on getting one back!
Here's how I managed to keep the packaging. I kept the packaging for all of my BTs so I couldn't bring myself to toss this crappy one.
I have opened a sealed 3k lucky draw before. Just couldnt take it. Lucky draws are meant to be opened.
