Too bad there won't be any there by the time most of us get to the show. Tho I'll bet a good number of those scalper types will have them in hand ready to sell them for 2-3 times retail to anyone who wants them. If Hasbro wanted Animated there for Botcon, they should have a booth set up for the Hasbro store to sell them at the show.

    ^My thoughts exactly.

But I say odds are good that there'll be a good show of Animated stuff at the Hasbro and/or Club stores too.

I agree, but if they're more than retail than I'll wait to their official release in June. I paid extra for a Bumblebee animated to get signed, that was enough for me. I figured I'd probably be able to buy one at the convention. I want to save room for figures that won't be as easy to aquire a few months from now.

Err... why do it at stores though? If it was for Botcon why not do it at the convention? Hasbro should have set up a booth at the con... oh well I guess... :lol

I'ts not as easy to get those kinds of prices out of someone standing in front of you at a show as it is online. With all of the scalper hate going on, I'll bet the prices will be a little more reasonable than that.

If someone tries and sell a deluxe animated figure for $30, just laugh and walk away or offer a few dollars over the price you know they paid. I'm hoping Hasbro will have the figures available at the con. I also hope that the fans don't buy multiples of everything so that other's can't get them. Though I know it's their right to buy as many as they want, it would be nice. Only time will tell.

Hopefully the hasbrotoyshop will have a booth like they did last year and sell them with a limit on them like the Pepsi Prime last year.

I'd love to get a Voyager Prime and Deluxe Bumblebee to have signed. Er... I feel bad, because there's no Sari figure. Bulkhead should have come with one...

Yeah, I think releasing them in the entire city as opposed to just setting up HTS at Botcon like they did last year, considering Botcon has at most a few thousand people, is rather odd.

I sure hope HTS has an Animated booth at Botcon, though.

Wasn't this a test market? Talk about poor data. "Yea, they flew off the shelves."

Pretty sure you cant get a Voyager Prime till general release, unless you ebay it or Hasbro would have them at the booth on hand for sale. BB I'd say for sure, V Prime was going to be in Wave 2 till recently but I got one, its well worth it.

i still think cinci as a test market is a poor choice, no offense but they state it because botcon. well yeah duh they are gonna sell because of scalpers and those in the area wanting to buy them. at least some ppl on the boards have been helping others and charging what they paid for. not 40 bucks for a deluxe and calling it RARE, which is a joke!

If they want to test a market it should have have been in a few areas where more than a shitload of tfans arent going to be at. So who knows the real reason, botcon, know they made a mistake, whatever.

It seems fairly apparant here that a Lead Market is not being used to describe the same thing as a Test Market. The news release all but confirms this was arranged as a gift to all of us fans who will be in the area, and has nothing whatsoever to do with actual market data or sales expectations...

Since I'm flying into Dayton and driving down, I plan on stopping at a couple shops on my way into town to do a little pre-shopping. Hope there's still some left.
