Been looking for reviews that don't include "I'm a huge fan". This ones an interesting read, specially since it opens praising the WFC games (and rightly so)

 

Finally, a score that isn't an 8, lol

Thought the review would be interesting as a result, but it seems the big issue here is that the reviewer played on Commander when he clearly wasn't ready, as that's the only available difficulty with such long health bars. A shame, since their Legend of Korra review had a lot more issues with the game, but gave it a score just a point and a half away from this game.

Oh well, at least it's better than going through another 8/10 article

Edit: Also couldn't help but do a double take when he said "Action and fanservice aside, there isn't much to recommend..."

It's like reading a review about a platformer, shooter, or puzzle game and the guy says "Platforming/shooting/puzzles aside, not much to recommend..."

This is EXACTLY what Ive been waiting for! As much as I like War/Fall of Cybertron, im not a big fan of first or third person shooters. This is the play style I enjoy most in a game and based on the trailers and reviews,Im so excited I just filled the cup! Cant wait to pick this up! Also,I dont have a PS4 yet so its nice they put it on PS3 for poor people like me.

Unfortunately I don't have a console system to play the game, but I'll be getting a copy regardless to get signed by the voice actors.

well ive beat the game 3 times on every difficulty..... the main thing that ruins this game are the driving chases and the horrible camera that has you going all over the place. I have almost every transformer ever made since 1984, so I'm an ultra G1 fan.... this game by any standard sucks in so many ways I cant even count. be prepared to chase megatron 20 times down corridors until you manage to get the camera just right and not running all over the place. this game is an atrocity... I cant even get a refund on steam because I played too much.... more like I paid too much for shit stinking crap.

Trouble with Megatron are two things:
1. They forgot to pitch it down a bit as it was done on the original show (In MTMTE part 1, you can hear Welker's unprocessed voice when he says "Quickly! We must revive other Decepticons!")

2. It's missing the G1 "flange" effect. That effect seems to be a lost art, specific to vocoder utilized by Marvel productions. Heck, that vocoder seems to have been rarely used in the showbiz. Only other place where I heard it was in Creepshow:

(Not exactly Decepticon modulation, but you can clearly tell it's a product of the same vocoder as it sounds like a Dinobot with traces of Decepticon modulation)

 

that's not trolling, I simply stated my opinion on the game which I have a right to do.... what you did was trolling as it offered nothing useful to the topic.

 

About what I expected: good game but small on content. Still picking it up of course because it's G1 Transformers and I welcome anything that isn't a military FPS. Don't get me wrong I love shooters as much as the next guy but man talk about over saturation!

And doth eyes deceive me? Was that G1 Megatron transforming into a tank and not a gun? That's a pretty bold move for a game that seemed to try to hit all the G1 continuity hallmarks. Also I'd love to see that transformation slowed down to see if they really plotted out what folded where?

 

You're unnecessary amount of insults to the game didn't add anything to the topic either.

You have every right to dislike the game, but the way you said it made it look like you wanted backlash, hence why he thinks you're trolling..

 

Love this game easily the best Transformers game to date, can't wait for DLC and/sequels. I could have used the character X or Y should have been in the game argument but that's just being stupidly nit picky

Oh IGN and your uneven review scores...

Well that's odd... everyone else seems to love the chases...

You didn't happen to try and shoot Megatron instead of catching up to him and super-punching him, did you? That can be killer on the camera in those sections, especially with the flame thrower.

 

I am playing the PC version and to use gun fire, I click on CTRL key but it only aims at the decepticon but will not shoot at him at all. Using mouse left and right after pressing CTRL key will just make prime to use the AXE.

Please help.

 

At least Soundwave still has the heavily distorted vocoder effect. It wouldn't be right if he didn't.

 

Man, some of these boss battles are hard as hell!
