Agree. Dissenting opinions within the same frame of reference are interesting (a like of MPs) but for other people to come in and say "CW is cheaper" I mean wtf. One you buy off the shelf from a toy store and the other is imported. It's just totally different lines. You can't even say they're the same character. MP is G1 ultra Magnus while CW Magnus is actually a different character altogether wearing armor that allows him to literally masquerade as the "original" IDW ultra Magnus.
Yeah, it's apples and oranges for the most part. Different goals for the lines, different aesthetics, budgets, parts counts, build quality, fictions, etc.
I feel like at least 1/3 of all the posts on this entire board is just that. Going to threads about toys you don't like and going on at length about how you don't like them. How would they like it if I started similar shitposting on the movie forum, eh?
I really like CW Magnus, just wish he were a little bigger. I currently have CW Megs, Carry, and CW Magnus on a shelf to represent the Lost Light leaders and it's just a bit off that Magnus is the shortest. I mostly stay away from the masterpiece line sure to expense and overly complicated transformations, but MP Magnus is calling to me.
The thing is then it turns into a "right to my opinion" debate which is also pretty useless, especially since I've never seen anyone tell another poster here they don't have the right to an opinion. It's more about actually contributing something valid and useful to the community, I think. Trust me, there's nothing overly complicated about MP UM's transform. It's very intuitive. My favorite transform of any TF ever, if I had to nail one down.
This where iI consider regretting having jumped on MP Magnus late and not waited patiently. I paid $190 on ebay after trying to hunt down cheaper when everything went over $200. This does sort of make me want to get one to sell it later so as to mitigate the cos of my first one. Curious if the sorue marks will be fixes.

Thank you! Looks like I may have to check release schedules and see which ones work out cheaper. And yes, like I said, I believe your point was not to hinder discussion but to call out the knee-jerk bashing.
My post was joke sorry getting your hopes up was never my intention..or spending any money thinking its fixed..sorry again
I do think this is possible since they've reportedly moved factories from China to Vietnam. We'll see! No problem!
It's for people that missed it and the 30th anniversary. It's not on store shelves or online stores in Japan, so you can't go out and buy it.
This just makes me think we're getting an MP Galvatron even more. Ultra Magnus and Hot Rod in the same year.
