Looks good. Now if Hasbro would get the figure to the online stores so I can get the one I pre-ordered.

I just found one of these out in the wild earlier today and I am THRILLED (30). He's SUPER detailed in person, his finish/chrome doesn't look cheap at all, and he's probably my favorite Generations figure in a good long while. The Skyfire face is a great touch, his accessories are awesome...screw scale, this guy is going on my MP shelf.

LOL, cool isn't it:cool:  - I wanted Jetfire but got Treadbolt instead just to have that mold but now its works out great for me because now I justify because they're 2 different molds and characters:thumb s:

Great gallery, as always, but I still think that Classics Jetfire looks way better than this version. And I know that the construction and engineering quality of Classics Jetfire will be far better, given Hasbro's current track record. Also, I have enough Transmetal and Transmetal 2 figures to know that red chrome is just asking for trouble.

    I'll pass.

Chrome bad maybe, but having the figure, there is nothing cheap feeling about him. His joints are tight and the plastic seems very sturdy. Having owned both Classics and this version...I like this one much better.

I'm sorry but as nice as the figure looks so to speak, Hasbro is not blowing us kisses by releasing such a high end figure with clip on parts everywhere and absolutely inexcusable 100% hollowed out thighs and hollowed out arms. That's a new low even for Hasbro. I mean Hasbro could have at least put panels over the hollow thighs but I guess 2 metal screws to cover up the hollow thighs with panels was over the budget for the figure. Ugh.

Personally, I'd love a 3rd party set with armor reminiscent of the original G1 toy Macross valkyrie armor. Unfortunately, if that did come to be Harmony Gold would go after them.

I, too, am one of the lovers of the previous Classics version. I look at this one and I just don't see the appeal, especially that awful chrome stuff. To each their own, though!

I want the same thing, and I really think the third parties will provide it, eventually. The HG suing arguments were rendered moot by the most recent court decision. It's my understanding that they can't go after Hasbro again regarding Jetfire.

Does anyone know what color plastic the armor pieces are cast in? If by some strange fluke they were cast in red plastic then we could just remove the chrome.

But that court case was against Hasbro. A 3rd party company would have way less money to defend themselves against Harmony Gold. It doesn't matter if the company changed the design just slightly enough. HG would be greedy enough to go after them regardless.

These pictures are great. I can definetly see the similarities in the legs when Generations Jetfire is standing next to his original G1 toy

It's red Plastic. you can soak them in Easy Off oven cleaner to remove the chrome....but usually chrome leaves traces behind, you may have to paint the guns red still for a smooth look.

Rustoleum 2X paint bonds pretty damn good to prepped plastic once cured I've noticed.

Use a two-stage dip of denatured alcohol (a couple of hours) followed by Super Clean (about 30 minutes), with periodic brushing with a stiff-bristled brush. Not a trace of chrome remains.

HG's license doesn't apply to Asia, where most 3P companies do business. HG can only stop items being sold or marketed in US outlets or by US companies. They can't do a thing about, for example, the "free license" garage kits for sale at Wonder Festival in Japan, or about Macross toys sold in stores across Asia. Plus, HG would have the same problem as Hasbro in actually applying any legal force to 3P companies, in that they're very hard to pin down. Add to that the fact that in this case, the product isn't even close to license infringing (it would be a foreign-made add-on for a toy that is already legally NOT an infringement on HG's license), and there's no path for HG to waste money on it. They have nothing with which to threaten US retailers or e-tailers (unlike Hasbro, which can always whip out the "we won't ship you any Hasbro product" threat if they want), and if they wanted to get nasty with e-tailers, they could have already done so years ago with all the imported Macross product those outlets sell.

I did not know you could do that with Jetfire's weapons, that is awesome.

I can't wait to pick him up.......even if I don't really have the room for him.

I got him this week. He's good but not really great in my books, a 7/10.

He looks great, but is pretty parts-formery and is somewhat lacking in posability (feet and head for example are missed), paint apps, transformation complexity, plastic quality.

You can actually transform him without removing a single piece of armor (except his rifle, which is pretty standard for Transformers). His head has both a swivel and a tilt. Definitely agree re: the feet and paint apps, though.

I can't wait for this guy to come in. The chrome I could do without but I don't mind it too bad. I wish his gun was black and more G1 but I can live. I am tempted to put a reprolabel on his faux-cockpit for robot mode.

I hope a 3rd party comes out with some more G1 style add ons. It's just screaming for them.
