The story potential is there. The problem is the people telling the stories. You could reboot it, but if you had the same production team it would just be the same old shit. You could continue the current story with a new team, that might work, but they'd have to find a way to undo some of the shit that happened in the last movies.

1. People care about finishing the current, ongoing movieverse plot threads.

2. They post that fact in this very thread.

3. You enter the thread and post a comment which flies in the face of that fact.

4. You THEN insult anyone who disagrees with your disagreement regarding the point you've intentionally ignored.

5. Ironically, in the course of that insult, you add that not only are they "numbed into indifference," or "lying," but the cherry-on-top that THEY are the ones looking for the fight! BRILLIANT strategy, lol.

6. Oh, yeah...don't forget that they're "delusional," too!

8. Tell you it's no biggie.

He's not worth responding to. Just by his comment you quoted, its clear that Dan is now thinking for everyone. The fact that some people actually like the movies and he doesn't, combined with blind hatred for them boggles his mind so much he actually has to make up a reason for the justification that is anything buuuhuuut the possibility of actually being interested in the cliffhanger and instead goes to great lengths to play the victim card.

Haz, he's not worth it man. There are people around here that loathe the movies and you can still carry on a decent convo with them. This guy is just doing what he's accusing others of doing.

that's an interesting point, and when I think about it, ironically I'm probably more interested in Galvatron than Thanos, but for the wrong reasons. the transformers movies are so mediocre that I have hopes pinned onto Galvatron to somehow find an interesting narrative and own the next movie, especially with Welker back behind the lungs! Thanos is cool and that, but the reason I want to see the next Marvel movie is because they're belting out gold after gold and I want more.

I think it breaks down to levels of caring.

We are geeks so some people have care off the charts. Always someone that wants a story finished.

The sort of care where eh it wouldn't be bad to finish the story but not the end of the world if they don't.

Then the don't care because the story doesn't really click for that person.

Where ticket buyers are at is the great unanswered question. Do the people going for the spectacle of a mega budget popcorn action movie really care as long as they get to watch robots beat the crap out of each other? Will the story get people back in China to repeat those box office numbers or would they still show up if the story was different?

In a fair universe every story would get finished but we don't live in a fair entertainment universe. Sometimes shows end a season on a cliffhanger and then the show is canceled. Sometime a film series just don't have the numbers to finish out the series. Given all the disappointments with entertainment not finishing a story people should be glad when they are lucky enough to get more.

 

So pretty much just ignore the Creators storyline and shoehorn Unicron? Yeahhhh....no. And all the resurrecting would seem like a desperate move of "We regret killing off these characters."

 

Or they could actually be invested in AOEs cliffhanger. I'd like to know who the Creators are and what Galvatron is going to do now that all of the KSI robots are destroyed. Just because you hate something doesn't mean everyone else does.
