    Erm, no, that's not right at all. Astrotrain is a 2-8-2 for starters, not a 4-6-4. And he's a Japanese loco, not American. Specifically he's a JNR D51:

    I remembered a similar thread I posted in a while ago, so I went and looked it up.

    I always had Astrotrain down as a JNR D52, it's the rarer more powerful version of the D51, with a slightly larger boiler. But I could be wrong.

    They were never taken out of service. There are several models of military vehicles that have newer replacements that still see service. I saw M113's when I was in Baghdad.

    As far as the thread goes, I'm at work so someone post an A-10 for Powerglide.
