It's an awesome monster design, just not a typical Godzilla design. However Godzilla/Zilla jr really was a rockstar in the cartoon.
I think I had that toy back in '98. If there's a spot on his neck where the tail end of a missile would extrude, I definitely had that one. Nice touch with the Damage to his right side, but as I recall, the tomcat Pilots put Sidewinders in both sides of Zilla... also Zilla's Eyes are an Amber Color.
I loved the movie more than the crazy Japanese crap, no point of realism The wound isn't related to ANY movie, it's just added for fun and realism Thank you very much to all
That's funny I just finished up watching the follow up cartoon from the movie last week. I really like what you did here. I always wished there had been a sequel to the '98 movie.
This was always my favorite Zilla toy (just pulled it off the shelf to admire it up close, in fact). One of the few toys I'd call Godzilla, because of the upright stance and because he shoots a missile (which I haven't been able to find in a long time). If there's something I can respect the movie for, it gave us awesome toys like this one. Hell, I think some of the toy designs are better than the actual movie design (a lot of them had an upright stance, larger plates, shooting "fire breath" missiles, etc.). Heh. Compared to the rest of the line, this was one of the smaller ones.
Great figure! I always disliked the movie (the original movie was actually all about the destruction caused by the nuclear bombs dropped in Japan, while this was just to make money), but the GINO design was always interesting to me, just not as Godzilla. Great job on your custom! Love the scar.
