Got my hands on a new ROTF Skystalker and since he combines with Mindwipe figured he would be better made into a bat. The entire outter shell was sanded down to give it a worn leather (bat wing) feel to it. The face was altered as well to make it look more Batlike. Not only does he have the original 3 modes but With a swap of the wings and a minor leg mistransformation we get an alternate Bat mode.
This would go so well with the ABX23's Soundwave and Rumble. Anyway, greeat job. It certainly fits Ratbat, and the Movieverse style makes him look very evil. And cool bat mode.
Didnt think he'ld go ove so well Thanks guys! To answer the questions: alondav77: "wow - great work how you mannege to sanded it like that? did you cut it first? " Thanks! I used a fine sheet of sanding paper and went over the entire outter form of the figure. Once its painted the sanded streaks pull the pain into them giving it a darker appearence DarthCrusher: "Sweet. I'm a sucker for all things Ratbat. How much?" Lol he goes up tonight on eBay.
Well, I love the idea and execution here! As soon as I saw the first picture, I wanted to see a picture with him hanging from the ceiling...and you delivered! Very nice concept. Love his head. Well done!
neat, it'd be even neater if you made a soundwave custom out of mindwipe and combined the two. edit: lol, i just saw that autobotx23 did that but with rumble.
Shinobitron this guy looks so cool. All the mods you did are perfect and the colors give such a small figure so much life and character. I'm totally going to buy a skystalker and turn him into Ratbat too now. Speaking of which... can you explain what exactly you did to the face to make it look so bat-like? The head is just appears so black in any of the pictures of the head on-line you can't see any of the sculpted details so it's really hard to tell what you did other than the paint apps to look that way without a figure in hand to compare your pic to.
Thanks! I actually cut the low "jaw area off and used Mighty putty recreate it. After that I added a second layer of putty to make into his fangs (silver streaks in the photos). The upper jaw was sanded at an angle to give it more of a snarling look to it and then used the figures natural indentations to add his bat eyes.
