HOUND? ew, I hope not! I hate all these liberties that Bay is taking and COMPLETELY re-branding these iconic G1 characters. Hound is a jeep. The end.
I personally think the choice in all of the cars is terrible. I can't wait until someone else takes control of this franchise and reboots it with making MTMTE live action.
It would be pretty cool if they were completly new characters altogether both in name and personality. There would be less of a reason for folks to be bitching about their childhoods being ruined, and they wouldn't have expectations as to how they act or what happens to them in the film.
This only seems to raise more and more questions to me.....among them being: Why the heck did Bee decide to downgrade and Optimus to upgrade? Where's all of the other Autobots, like Sideswipe and the Wreckers? Why are they in Monument Valley? Is there something stashed there like there was in Egypt? Where did Optimus leave his trailer at, around the corner or something? Questions...questions...questions...
Who cares that Bumblebee "downgraded" he looks better; it's refreshing. I was growing tired of the new camaro look. Optimus looks amazing. He looked great in the first 3, but he looks great now too. And if that's Ratchet with red and white instead of green, great. I understand people want these movies to be G1 one, but it just I think it would be better to have a blend of G1 and movie. The G1 look wouldn't completely work. The only real prob I have with most of the movie robots are their face and mouths. Being that, most don't have a mouth. And if the dinobots are trucks, great. I hate them anyway and it would be stupid to see robots dinosaurs running around. Other than that, I'm more pumped for this movie than the other 3.
Now that I see Optimus driving beside the cars there... I know now why we don't have Long Nose Trucks here. They would be too large to be allowed to drive on our roads and would not fit below many bridges. Man, is that truck gigantic. I guess you can barely watch up into the cab while sitting in one of the cars.
Yep. Because G1 should ALWAYS be the main focus of future Transformers series. How DARE someone do something different!!
Knowing Bay and his fondness for just slapping whatever name onto whatever random new movie bot he likes, that giant green military vehicle will likely end being named Cyclonus or Gears.
Digging Bee's new look. It kind of symbolizes that he's no longer Sam's fresh-new-looking 2013 camaro. Sam's completely out of the picture now.
Yeah this! Exactly this! Give him a new name! Make a new character! Over the last few years we had a huge influx of new original character that had no fiction before but have stayed and became favourites. Why can't the movie do the same? If you can't respect and truely update G1 characters, then come up with new characters! Simple as that. Who knows some of the new characters might become fanfavourites and stick to the franchise and you end up adding MORE to the overall feel rather than re-hashing old concepts. Except for you know IronMan's whole deal being that he builds new armours and tries to update the old one. If anything the IronMan movie payed homage to the original suit. Not to mention that the original suit lasted for ONE ISSUE and that the very next issue he had a new suit that was the gold version of the original only to ditch it SEVEN ISSUES LATER for this one: That has since then served as an ispiration for all future armours. And Batman is another lousy example because he has had CONSISTENT design throughout the ages with the same basic elements used for every design. Same with Superman, same with Spiderman, same with every other comic book ever. Super-heroes have been using the same basic costume design with slight modifications for more years then the Transformers existed. You wouldn't dress Batman is gold with metalic pink stripes and give him an elephant mask and make his signature weapon a big blue dildo and still call him Batman. Oh but you totally would wouldn't you, because Batman can't always have the same basic design am I right?
