I know the guy in Bamba toymaster who.liases with the hasbro rep. I can pass on details privately to anyone who wishes to drop in and have a chat with him. He might be able to get leader class tlk megatron for you or who knows there might be one out the back lol. Worth a shot. He's a decent guy whose a big fan himself.
Concept Megatron still isn't at Smyths, I'm in a weird sunk cost where I feel if I cave and order it from Big Bang rather than wait for Smyths to get it so I can use my voucher, that's the moment where Smyths will immediately get it in just so fate can spite me.
Smyths have him still listed as March, I've sent a couple emails back and forth but all they can say is March, I swear Pulse EU had him slated for the end of March, and now they have him slated for the end of May... I wonder if that's any indication he's been delayed, though I think Smyths get their stuff from Hasbro UK. You'd THINK that BigBang and Smyths would end up getting them around the same time then, but I suppose not. I had a family member in Smyths to pick up the Mainline ROTB Prime, she asked the staff if they had Concept Megatron in the back maybe but I don't think they did. So I suppose if Smyths gets their stuff from Hasbro EU I might as well order from BigBang, but I don't have any other big purchases to use that voucher on as I don't plan to buy any more Leader Class figures this year really. I'd use it for Magmatron but Smyths are weird with stocking Commanders.
I hate waiting on a figure that I know is out in a lot of places. I ordered from bigbang using credit I'd built up with the guys so he was free. Which is amazing. You could use your smyths voucher towards maybe magmatron or tidalwave if they are getting them in. Or the upcoming ss86 prime
SS86 Prime might be a good idea actually, I'd imagine they'll stock an Optimus Prime at least. Though last year I think they only stocked Armada Prime in a few select locations, and didn't offer delivery on him. The closest Smyths to me is the Navan one, which doesn't seem to get Commanders.
From what im lead to believe galway (head office) Fonthill and naas are the 3 best branches. Smyths jervis used to be okay but the tf selection was poor the last time I was there.
Seemingly it's from there that the stock is sent from if you order online. So if a figure is listed on the website as being in letterkenny but nowhere else its actually shipping from galway. Which might have an effect on what they actually have in store.
Toymaster is so weird, because they had a rack of Netflix Bumblebees out on clearance prices, but that Junkheap will be on the shelf for €50 until the heat death of the universe.
The day that €50 voyagers become the norm is the day I bow out of this hobby. Hell, €40 feels like it's pushing it a bit already...
€40 Voyagers and €30 Deluxes are seriously pushing it for me already, unfortunately I feel like here we don't have great sales or discounts to get the prices down unless we get lucky with what Smyths decides to discount.
Concept Megatron's page has been changed slightly, and Home Delivery is selectable but "Out of stock" for now. I think that's typically a sign its due soon, but I can't remember if that's within the next few days or still 2 weeks out.
I saw that, at this point I haven't been sure whether to value my time over my money and just bite the bullet on getting it at Big Bang but no point in ordering anything from Big Bang now because I'm waiting for them to get Cybertron Starscream and Magmatron in stock. I mostly say this because I recall times where the Smyths dates have been pretty inaccurate, occasionally earlier but usually later.
I'd get megatron from bigbang while you can It seems magmatron too has been delayed. Hasbro pulse was supposed to get him 27th of march now it's 10th of April. So there must be some supply ussues/delays with figures.
