I still think swappable faceplates (no screws) should be standard for 3Ps as well as TT.

 

Swappable faceplates, Yes. But I own their Sovereign, which has those, and in my opinion they’re the best facesculpts they made, but still they lack character. It remains Fans Toys’ achillesheel...

 

it's the reason I skipped Sovereign and went tyrant but Koot and Apache were spot on for face sculpts so they are improving.

 

I don’t have those, so I had to look them up, but You’re right. Koot and Apache’s faces look good. I do think they need to work on Jabbers’ though.

 

This is my #1 request from Fanstoys as the next up, pls put optional expressive faces, like takara is doing with MP Inferno, MP Megatron, MP Sunstreaker, the clear best 3 TF they have made. I really want optional happy faces, and angry face, included in all future Fanstoys product, that would shoot their products to the next level up.

 

I think the difficulty with FT face sculpts IMO is the proportions. Looking at some of their Dibots, the spacing between the eyes, the length of the face, and the eye proportions (where you can see the eyes), where the look wasn't "right" the first time out, and where the faces were re-released, the faces appeared to need rethinking in one of these proportions.

The other attribute to their sculpts which needed work was the "cheek bones" (or the zygomatic arch, for the anatomically inclined), and both Rouge and Jabber have this hollowed out/slightly raised cheek. It lends to either "less rounding" in Rouge's case, or a flatter, longer facial profile, in Jabber's case. Add in the slightly smaller eye dimensions, and it's the aesthetic difference between that makes some favour OM Azalea over FT Rouge. I don't have a Buzzing to compare, but to my eye, Jabber's face is almost expressionless.

Some of FT's better fully visible face sculpts are Koot and Phoenix, but again, IMO.

 

Sovereign has a good face sculpt/plate too, though it could have been meaner still, because to me that’s his natural state: angry as hell! Similarly, Jabber should have an expressiveness that reflects his on screen-persona: adhd, always in the highest gear, cute.

 

I miss dallianjj randomly showing up and dropping photo bombs for updates or new releases.

He posted Feb 1st to announce this but I do feel as if he interacts less with us nowadays in various threads.

 

Maybe because a few really needy types incessantly PM him asking questions and encourage others to do the same. That's gotta be annoying af at scale.

I wouldn't call them needy. They are following normal protocol to communicate with him. Besides, he's a big boy so he can handle PMs in his inbox. He'll get to them when he can get to them. He's the FT rep on these threads so I'm sure he's aware of what he signed up for. It's not like he gave out his personal email address. This is part of his job.

I'd also imagine Dalian is chillin' due to CNY.

 

CNY is OVERRRR!!! (haha just kidding) ... but serious, we need updates on this pronto ... as TT drops the ball on the G1 MP game, I want to at leas emerge from the wallet carnage with an intact MP representation of the main Movie characters ... already given up on a full MTME or S1/S2 display so this all I have left to cling to realistically ...

 

Does anyone know if the FT Blurr will be about the same height as UT's Blurr?

 

He'll be a head shorter. Just like Koot.
