My Takara Scourge arrived.. and the stickers on his chest have these black smudges .... look like finger prints..

The grill and bumper of the truck isn't completely chrome.. there's this black stuff all over...

I emailed the seller.. and see what he's going to do..

I really hate it when things like this happen.. puts you on the edge not knowing what to do

 

Well the Korean made one is alot cheaper then the US version. Made of mass produced material. The "finger-prints" on his chest are sticker smear from the heavy ink and the chrome with black stuff is pretty much chrome paint that was smudged during production. ALOT of them came out like this.

 

After speaking with Scythe through PM, I feel better about sending my email to the seller   (Thanks, Dude)

Anyway.. I thought I'd share the "smudges" with you guys... the pictures actually don't show how much there really is.. but you can still see some of it:







The black on the grill and bumper aren't reflections..

 

 
Sorry about the smudges. Now that I see the pictures, I recall reading about the damage to the chrome here.
I think it was because Black Convoy figures in the transit (?) when a bad weather hit the region or something. I tried to find the thread, but couldn't. It was a while ago. My old brain could be totally wrong.
I hope you'll resolve the issue with the seller soon.

 

The grill could be fixed with silver paint, Citadel Mithrill silver is awesome for this, but the smudges on the chest are a real bummer. I was looking to get the Korean Black Convoy, but this troubles me now. What if I get a same one?? Delta does labels for this guy??

 

Not a problem Ranoobu, always here to help. As I stated to you before, if you indeed get a new one, there's a high chance it might also have the black smudges on the front. Although I think they work as an adantage to give it an almost natural "Battle-damage" look, and they also look like oil stains. He is an oil tanker after all.

However, I can't help to think of what will become of that particuliar figure. He'll probably be shipped off to another anxious collector that'll hopefully return him, or maybe they'll just throw him away. such a shame i'de buy that for ten bucks.

One thing is for sure, I highly doubt that toy will ever make it into the grubby hands of a child. I haven't seen/heard a transformer being bought or purchased for a child in years.

Trust me, it's rare to get a Korean black convoy with botched labels. Especially since they're only 30 bucks. Quite a few had black smudges on the grill that can be fixed with paint as you stated, but the labels are a rare thing.

 

Maybe it's a battle damage variant <runs>

 

Mine's the Korean version and the chrome is perfect.

Man, that's such a bummer. I hope that the advice of guys here really helps to solve your problems with an otherwise ROCKIN' toy  

That being said, I was thinking that reprolabels had a label kit for BC/Scourge, but I think I've been mistaken. They do have this upgrade set for G2 Laser Op, so that might have been what I was thinking of.*

If so many of these are damaged, I'd think the demand would be such that Delta could/would make a set of labels to help out. If not, he could probably make you a set. Just holler at him  




*Also because I've been wanting that set along with a heap of others

To me, the way a character is portraited in media has a certain ammount of influence on what figure I will get or keep. So with that in perspective I have found this very nice Scourge/Black Convoy homage video on youtube:

 

I think the Mentos commercial and the montague played to the tune of that Linkin Park song show Scourge's range much better.

He's great and was really nice about the whole situation..

He even got the days mixed up and still broke his plans to meet me. There was no fuss at all.. so if you haven't gotten one and might get one, consider getting one from him  

 

Look who just turned up 5 minutes ago.

 

You know I had that version but I sold it to get the Japanese one. I can get reprolabels if I need con' logos, I just preferred the sharper sword and silver decals.

hey guys I'm late to the party (nearly 10 years later lol) but I got an extra scourge for sale on my ebay shop.

since toyhax is bailed on making stickers for this guy I'm contacting custom decal companies to see if they can replicate factory stickers and I plan on spreading the product if I can find a good quality replicator for those of us who got screwed on sticker placement for this guy or who needed to modify and damage the ones they had.
