Movie Dinobots Concept Artwork by Xylac Industries

Posted on 11-05-2014 at 02:22 PM by Sol Fury under Transformers Movie (Just Movie) (All Transformers Movie News)
tumblr_nekpy8YG4J1rsgh74o4_500 Concept artist Xylac Industries have shared some interesting pieces of concept artwork of the Dinobots, which they were commissioned to produce by Hasbro three years ago. It's mentioned that these artworks were not produced specifically for Transformers Age of Extinction but as a part of a wider study of a different aesthetic style for the Transformers live action movie universe. It's mentioned that the new aesthetics included "layering to see the inner mechanic structure under a transparent layer, organic shape to the Mechanic - Musculature, new silhouette, new panel segmentation styles, Organic forms and Muscle system."

Once again these are not specific Age of Extinction concept arts but ones produced to explore a new artistic direction. You might also find it interesting to know that all of these arts were produced in a tight two-week timeframe. Check them out!

Michael Bay Not Directing Transformers 5?

Posted on 10-29-2014 at 11:16 PM by Mechafire under Transformers Movie (Just Movie) (All Transformers Movie News)
2833405-bay_EXPLOSION-300x237 IGN has just confirmed that Michael Bay will not be returning to direct Transformers 5.

After going back-and-forth multiple times concerning his directing the Transformers movies, it appears Michael Bay has finally decided not to return, instead opting to direct a Benghazi drama, titled "13 Hours" based on the novel by Mitchell Zuckoff.

The 5th live action Transformers film was officially announced earlier this month at the Hasbro third quarter 2014 earnings conference call, although after the box office success of Age of Extinction many assumed a 5th installment was a certainty.

Who's your choice to fill Michael Bay's spot? Discuss what you think about this revelation after the jump!

Transformers-Age-Of-Extinction-GAC-Trumpchi-GS5-SUV-Commercial 2005 Boards Member bellpeppers is sharing with us a very cool commercial for Transformers: Age Of Extinction, advertising the GAC Trumpchi GS5 SUV. You may remember that GAC was a sponsor for the movie and one of their cars; the Trumpchi e-Jet was even featured in the movie.

VFX Artist Joaquim Montserrat is sharing this video and he has this to say:

A commercial for GAC GS5, a chinese SUV that is sponsoring the Transformers 4 movie. This is the VFX edit as nearly 20% of the VFX were cut from the broadcasted edit.

This was graded in Resolve, modeled and animated in Max, rendered with VRay and composited in Nuke.

  • VFX Producer: Sahattaya Chantanop
  • VFX Artists: Joaquim Montserrat, Alejandro Garcia, Pichaya Popanyasak, Gabriel Maymon, Chanon Adisakkitti, Brad Lorimer, Natthakit Sarunsikarin

Michael Bay likes everything to look and sound cool. But as Variety's Tim Gray learned from sound re-recording mixers Greg P. Russell and Scott Millan, cooler doesn't always mean louder.

Takara-Tomy October Releases & Legendary Weapons In-Hand

Posted on 10-18-2014 at 07:24 AM by Sol Fury under Transformers Movie Toys & Products (All Transformers Movie News)
B0N5O6UCMAA-PqT Alfes2010 has shared some images of some of Takara-Tomy's October Transformers Age of Extinction Japanese market releases, including some images of the "Legendary Weapons" accessories being given away as a part of a promotional campaign.

Via Alfes' Twitter account, we have a look at a couple of those Legendary Weapon premiums - available free when spending 3,000 yen or more at specific retailers. In particular there are some great looks at the "Prime Axe" weapon.

Next on Alfes' blog we have a look at the Japanese market version of Power Battlers Galvatron. This "Lost Age" Galvatron is shown side-by-side with the other Japanese market releases of Galvatron toys - the Voyager class Generations Galvatron, and the One Step Changer. Which brings us nicely on to the next item!

Alfes has also shared images of the Japanese market One Step Changer four pack. This four pack collects the One Step Changers versions of Galvatron, Silver Knight Optimus Prime, Helicopter Drift and Dinobot Slug in a single box.

Check out the images for all of these and see what you think.

TAK11977 Our sponsors Big Bad Toy Store report that the Dual Model Kit version of Autobot Bumblebee - based on his appearance in Transformers Dark of the Moon - will be getting a rerelease in March 2015. This kit for those not aware does not transform, but sports good poseability and incredible detail compared to the on-screen model. Well worth taking a look at if you're a fan of the movies or a fan of Bumblebee!
