Transformers the Ride is coming to Universal Studios theme park in Orlando Florida - and ahead of the grand opening the big bad of Transformers, Megatron himself, has arrived to promote the attraction. By way of Inside the Magic we have clips and a video of Megatron stomping around, stopping for photo ops - but advising guests that "Megatron does NOT smile!"

Now for some actual Transformers 4 news.

We have received a Press Release announcing that Paramount Pictures is teaming with China Movie Channel and Jiaflix Enterprises to give Transformers 4 a major presence in China; where the franchise is a huge hit.

According to the Press Release:

"I'm proud and honored by how 'Transformers' has been embraced by Chinese audiences," said Michael Bay. "I look forward to working with China Movie Channel and Jiaflix Enterprises to help reach more people here and deepen their passion for this ongoing story and its characters."

Pursuant to the agreement, China Movie Channel, under the State Administration of Radio Film and Television (SARFT), will cooperate with Paramount in broad-based support of the production of the film in China. "Transformers 4" is expected to be released in China on or about June 27, 2014. The parties also intend to cooperate in a number of other areas related to "Transformers 4," including the selection of filming sites within China, theatrical promotion, and possible post-production activities in China as well as casting of Chinese actors and actresses in the film.

Not sure if Michael Bay is serious or playing a Transforming Alien Robot sized April Fools' Day Joke.

Official Website of Director Michael Bay has been updated with the following info:

"Transformers 4, 5, & 6 will begin filming back to back starting June 2013.

More details to follow."

At this point, this newsie wouldn't be surprised to see "More details to follow" would simply be a message shouting "April Fools!!!"

However, this is Michael Bay we are talking about. He could actually be telling the truth... guised as a prank.

Update: Michael Bay Site Admin left this message at the S4TE Forums for those asking if this is an April Fools' Day joke:

"When was the last time you saw us joke around here?"

Update 2: The story has been pulled from Micheal Bay's website, leaving not a single trace to be found. Has the master of explosions pulled an April Fool's joke on us all? Only time will tell.

Get your grains of salt ready to take! Comicbookmovie.com has posted an excerpt from an interview with Cinema Blend and producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura (Transformers and G.I.Joe films). Given the success of Marvel's Avengers and a possible Justice League film from Warner Bros, the question was asked if the producer would be open to doing a crossover film. While he seems hesitant and seemingly wants to focus on each properties very rich histories, he does say he'd be open to it if the right story came along. Read below what he had to say on the subject:


"I guess it’s possible. I don’t know. I think I probably at this moment, I resist it. I don’t know necessarily why, but I just think there’s so much that’s so rich in the mythologies that I don’t think they need to draw from the other. I think, I didn’t rule it out for me and I think those things have somehow for me, sort of in the past, they made me feel like a little bit cynical exercises in just drawing money out of something. It’s not to say you couldn’t do it well, but both these properties have such rich mythologies with so many characters, that you could go a lot of movies before you start running out of ideas of what to do. But it’s not to say, if we found the right… I’d hate to set out to do that, but if I heard a story where we went, “Oh my God…,” I could see a story right now about machination, machination of war and that could lead you sort of intrinsically to a Transformer. I think in general, Marvel is doing it within their own universe, right? And so it doesn’t feel gimmicky in that way. I think that’s what I would really try to resist."

A second tweet from the official Michael Bay twitter account has revealed that the lead actress of Transformers 4 has been cast. Acting alongside Mark Wahlberg and Jack Reynor will be Nicola Peltz, whose previous credits include the live action movie "The Last Airbender". While plot details so far have been kept under wraps, we assume this means Nicola will be playing the high school girl referenced in previous casting calls.

Michael Bay's official Twitter account has tweeted a confirmation that Transformers 4 will be filmed in 3D. This confirms what many of us probably already took for granted, after Dark of the Moon proved to be a veritable tour de force of what 3D can do; however to have it confirmed by the man himself is always reassuring.

Prime1Studio has updated their website with pictures and information for an upcoming polystone statue they're producing of movie Megatron from Revenge of The Fallen. This extremely detailed, gigantic, and not to mention gorgeous statue will feature light up eyes, interchangeable eyes and stands at 32" tall from base to head. No release date is provided, but when it is released you're gonna have to dig deep into that wallet. The statue will run you 189,000 yen (roughly $2000.00 US).

General Motor's partnership with Paramount and the Transformers franchise looks set to continue with Transformers 4. Robert Wheeler, spokesman for GM, confirmed that a film crew has visited GM's Grand Blanc Weld Tool Centre in Michigan to scout the site as a possible filming location for Transformers 4. Mr Wheeler states that nothing is confirmed as yet, and that there are a lot of details to work out on both sides.

We bet most of you saw this coming a mile off - Paramount, via Bleeding Cool News, has stated that the Transformers 4 plot details that were posted earlier this week by the Michigan Film Board are "inaccurate". That's all they've said "information previously posted is inaccurate"; which doesn't necessarily debunk everything, but for now it would be wise to take the previous report with a healthy dose of skepticism.

With a little over 15 months to go until Transformers 4, it's about time for us to learn a few tantalizing details of what Transformers 4 might have in store - and by way of a press release from the Michigan Film Office, we have those details to share with you! It reads as a plot summary, giving the broad-brush overview of what the plot might entail.

There have been rumblings of various Transformers 4 filming locations of late, but now a location has come forward, confirmed. Chicago, according to Chicago Reel, is going to be a filming location - and according to their information, based on projected film dates of July to October and Transformers 4 star Mark Wahlberg looking for a four month house rental, we could be looking at Chicago being the main filming location for Transformers 4. With Transformers 4 being set 4 years after Dark of the Moon devastated the city with a full-on Decepticon invasion and plenty of Michael Bay's trademark Bayhem, is the city ready for a second helping?

Moments ago, my fellow newsie and always awesome Superquad7 pointed to me that Otto Graven and his Drift Team; Ultimate 86 Motorsports has received co-title sponsorship by Hasbro's Transformers Brand and Rogue Status.

According to Wrecked Magazine…

"In a huge deal, Otto Graven has announced a co-title sponsorship of his "Ultimate 86" as being split between longtime Scion partner Rogue Status and Hasbro's "Transformers" brand. This is a great new brand coming to Formula D, one that I’m sure many fans have grown up admiring. Rogue Status is upping their sponsorship from a partner level to a co-title sponsorship as well. For a driver who wasn’t in the series last season, this is a HUGE announcement coming through in a season where many drivers are struggling to find sponsorship dollars. Will this help Otto earn his first FD Podium in 2013?"

This piece of news is rather interesting for one particular reason, and that reason is what we already know about Transformers 4. Yes, we have learned before, that one of the title roles of Transformers 4 is a Racing Car Driver played by Irish actor Jack Reynor.

Good friend of TFW2005, Ricky Brigante of Inside The Magic dropped by to let us in on the news that Transformers: The Ride Supply Vault at Universal Orlando is now officially open.

At the Supply Vault, Transformers fans can purchase all sorts of neat stuff including a small replica of the Allspark from Movie 1.

Also, you might meet Optimus Prime and Bumblebee walk-around characters; who entertain the public.

"Yesterday the large metal doors opened to the ride’s store, dubbed the “Supply Vault,” revealing hundreds of Transformers items now for sale in the park, including quite a few Universal Studios exclusives. And with the opening of the store, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee also emerged, meeting Universal Orlando day guests - and Optimus was even talking."

"A few of the more unique items are a voice changer, All Spark projector, and plenty of T-shirts, along with an assortment of Transformers toys, including Evac, a main character developed for the ride."

According to a post at The Hollywood Reporter, Director Michael Bay has requested actor Josh Duhamel's presence at Transformers 4 in a Cameo Appearance.

Mr. Duhamel said...

"[Michael] said he wants to put me in it someplace. I don’t know if he was just saying that because he had me on the phone and he felt obligated or what, but, you know what? I got to do three of those. It changed my career, it changed my life getting to be a part of something that big, so I’m grateful for even doing the first three of them."

Did Transformers 4 Principal Photography begin secretly?

According to On Location Vacations (the very site which kept the Transformers fans informed of filming locations last time for Transformers: Dark of the Moon) it seems as though “Something’s” happening over at Raleigh Studios in Playa Vista, CA.

This could very well be Pre-Production for the movie as well and therefore we must wait till an Official Source confirms it.
