MGS-03 New Classics Hound Upgrade Kit

News from ACtoys this evening, where a new Universe Hound upgrade kit has been shown. This kit comes to us from 3rd Party Group MGS. The upgrade kit includes customizable weapons such as rockets and pistols which can be configured in several different ways on Hound in robot and vehicle mode. He also comes with six gas tanks that can clip on to the figure. I guess Hound is not very fuel efficient! Also, in the photos is the upgrade kit used on Botcon 2010 figure Turbomaster. It's unknown at this time if a seperate kit is being developed for the Botcon Exclusive or if these pictures are just showing off the compatibility.

For this add-on to sell/appeal to the masses, it obviously needs more mileage. LOL

With the price of gas these days he has to have alot of cans so he doesnt have to buy the gas as often

Honestly, I'd love a maybe white kit with different colored missiles for Botcon Scorch and SG Revage to really differentiate it from Hound.

I'll bite, Already have missles coming for Ravage (Both regular and SG) from Venksta, but I could use some firepower and gascans for the figures, and have Henkei, Universe, and Botcon to arm.

been toying around the idea of an Ironfist custom from this mold, might get it and split up the parts between him and my regular Hound, depending. Anyone know when, how much, and if those colors are final?

I'm liking this. Hound is probably my favorite Classics figure, but he needs some weapons upgrades. As long as the price isn't too ridiculous, I'll pick this up. Would like to see it in a brighter silver though.

Kinda neat -but yeah, why does he have six gas cans?

And what's with all these pictures showing exactly what you get if you buy the set?
They need to follow the Crazy Devy marketing and just show an extreme close up of one gun barrel, or maybe show a zoomed in shot Hound's shoulder and part of a missile.

Hmm, neat.

Seems like almost too much stuff, though. All I really want to see is a toy accurate/inspired rifle that attaches to the jeep, maybe a pistol and jerry can, and Ravage's missiles - but the weapons should be in chrome!

I mean, we've got so many Hound kits at this point, seems like chrome should be a no-brainer! Oh well.

When are we going to see this kind of love for the other Autobots?

I agree with most comments - kinda neat, why the number of jerry cans.

Actually my thing is that I don't think the pictuer color really works with either USA or Takara Hound. The stuff needs to be painted like white, silver or black depending on the part. And the Ravage missiles NEED to be chrome, the Hound gun parts can be black IMHO.

I still like the chromed G1 Soundwave weapons on Classics Ravage better. The shoulder weapons are neat, but not neat enough to justify the inevitable price.

A similar idea looks like it would work well for the likes of Prime Wheeljack, RID prime Cliffjumper, & RTS Jazz. and maybe even Universe Inferno.

i think it's the most effective kit overall the small missile look great on ravage - they also look like they'd look great on a USB stick cat too.

I'm diggin' this. A lot of extra pieces in the kit though. I guess that's good for someone who may misplace pieces every now again.

I'm mostly interested in the tray thing that would allow Hound's existing shoulder launcher to sit properly. Why are third party companies only doing Hound kits now? Didn't he come out about 3 years ago?
Aren't these guys really pushing it when they actually use the words Hound and Autobots on that bio card?

yeah, and 3 "back pack" thing. Those can come in hand for any Hound customs that requires shoulder mount weapons.

3rd party copies each other. I believe Renderform showed Hound upgrades first.

id have already preordered if it was available colored to match henkei with chrome.

I have to say I like it. Because it got the missiles for Ravage and if you want to make Hound into Swindle than you got a gun that gives that illusion of Swindle's arm cannon. So I might buy this when it on sale.

With that many different weapons (and gas cans) you could upgrade both Hound and Scorch with one purchase.

$30 is too much. I don't own Scorch (and don't plan on buying him), and I'm not too interested in Ravage's rockets. Would someone care to split the set - I need just one of each gun, one gun stand, and two gas cans.
