IGN caught up with Glenn Morshower, who was in Transformers(2007), and talked about his parts in Revenge of The Fallen:
Said Morshower, “You know, I did the first one and a lot of people died and we were part of the team that was killed. But even though a lot of people died, that didn’t seem to bother them. They wanted to bring me back. And then Michael Bay said, ‘Well, you’ll be playing a completely different character. But don’t tell me now if you want to do it [yet]. I’m going to send you the script.'”Morshower than explained the big surprise in store for him. “He sent it to me and I looked at the name of the character… The name of the character is General Morshower. He named the character my name.” In his follow up conversation with Bay, Morshower recalled, “[Bay] goes, ‘You don’t mind, do you? We think your name is really different, really cool.’ I went, ‘What do I care? It’s mine!’ So I went in and played General Morshower.”

Oh, for the love of……… you're kidding , right?! you know hes coming back! Or are you just messin' with us. SEE the TRAILERS, No0B.

But TOXICON is also right… Stan Lee plays different characters in all 3 Spidey movies:
SM1: man in fair
SM2: man dodging debris
SM3: man in Times Square
And I guess we should add:
– Baxter Building's postman (FF1)
– Hugh Hefner (Iron Man)
– Security Guard (Hulk)
– Man drinking brazilian soda (Incredible Hulk)
– Waterhose Man (X-Men 3)
And more…. I guess the Movie Marvel Universe is also ruined.
That's what I want them to do. Have "Aaron" play a different army character in each movie, who always gets killed by those evil Decepticons.
They can even make it a plot point for the last movie: OH NOES! Decepticons are cloning Aaron and using him to infiltrate the armed forces!

If you don't like the movie verse then GTFO the Movie discussion you idiot.

Considering people in this thread have provided examples from other franchises of actors playing visible multiple roles across several movies or television shows within the same continuity that haven't been crippled because of such casting decisions, I can only conclude that your unwarranted harshness about this is a result of you long-held criticism about the movieverse, and you wouldn't give two shits from a rat's arse if it wasn't involved with the movieverse.
Completely boneheaded? Hardly.

I think the point is, people aren't going to remember that he was supposed to have died. We never really saw it on-screen if I'm remembering it correctly, and the average movie-goer who saw the first one certainly won't remember his name.
They'll either fill in the gaps with some explanation, they'll accept it and move on, or they won't even notice it.
EDIT: I will concede that it is kinda silly, but if Bay likes the guy, then that's really his choice. I can't imagine this is going to completely destroy the movie.
Although I could be wrong…
Darthbane2007
Not to take it off topic, but Chris Ellis, the guy who played Flight Director Clark in Armageddon ( Basically, one of his lines was " First team to hit 8 hundred feet, wins" when the Oil Drillers/Astronauts are being briefed on their mission) plays an Admiral in Transformers.
Darthbane2007
Maybe his new character can be retconned into being Col Sharp's identical twin brother
billmoo
Geez. Next thing you know, they'll be bringing Blackout back or something.
Laughing Man
Wow, good catch. Also, you'll remember Robert Duncan McNeil played one of Wesley's fellow conspirators in that episode and McNeil came back as a different character – Tom Paris in ST:Voyager.
And I remember they addressed Freema's situation on Doctor Who by having her mention something about losing a cousin during the Cybermen invasion.

Yeah. I get those two guys confused all the time. Separated at birth?
I imagine most people will see it and think "Hey, the dude from '24' is back." Besides, he's already traveled the "come back as a different character on a popular franchise" road with Star Trek (TNG). He was a Starfleet officer in one episode (as the security officer that escorts Wesley when he returns to the Enterprise to pick up an experiment so he can cheat at the war games) and returns as a terrorist who tries to take over the ship (in the episode with Picard running around with a bow).
Also, Freema Agyeman on Doctor Who.

Well, you put it in terms of "this is just another thing the movieverse gets wrong", which seemed a little silly to me when it's something G1 (and nearly every other TF cartoon to a degree) does to a much greater extent. Would you have preferred I said Animated? I almost did.
What's a huge stretch about comparing Strangelove to ROTF? I never said both movies are equally good/relevant/intelligent as each other, just pointed out one minor little detail from the Bay films has something in common with an aspect from the movie. People loved watching a movie where Peter Sellers played three major roles. With that in mind, I find it a bit odd that one minor character in the last film playing a different minor role in the next film to be something that could possibly bother you, especially without even seeing the movie.
You realize it's the same guy… and what? Where's the harm there? It just seems like complaining for the sake of complaining, to me. Once again, I could have said something else – did anyone lower their opinion of Spider-man 2 and 3 because of Bruce Campbell reprising completely different roles? Or every Marvel movie because of Stan Lee? I think you're turning a tiny cameo nod into something it's not.
Cinemastique
This is a LAME idea. That guy was a pretty big part in the first 10 minutes of TF1, and he dies. This will ONLY be cool if he dies again in TF2, and they bring him back as ANOTHER Colonel in TF3.
Akumaxv
And what does G1 have anything to do with what I said?
Hysterical how if you don't 100% love everything about the movie verse, the suckers of Bay's teet always manage to throw G1 in there, even though it wasn't even part of the conversation.
I know G1 had it's flaws, lots of them. Great for 84 when we were 8, but terrible compared by today's standards.
I get it. Get yourself another argument please.
And comparing the TF movies to Dr. Strangelove is a HUGE stretch.
Most people might not notice it's the same guy. I do and it bothers me. Doesn't mean that should affect anyone else.
P.S. I'm not takign anything away from the actor either. I've seen him on 24 and other flicks and I think he's great. Just think this is a boneheaded casting decision because there are some people that will notice.
Laughing Man
I always liked him in 24, so i was thrilled.
Star Trek did the same thing with Robert Duncan MacNeill from Star Trek. He played Wesley Crushers fellow cadet in that one ep where they got caught cheating or something, then they bring him back as a full member for Voyager.
Shelfwarmercon
The guy was reformatted and brought back, people.
It's a casting decision for what could very well be a minor role. For all we know he could just say two lines and be killed off again.
jametron
His name's Bruce Campbell. Oh and just fair warning, the gods may soon smote you for not knowing who one of the most awesome character actors to date is.
BRUCE CAMPBELL! Don't forget it again plskthxbye.
aussiehippy
I imagine 99.9% of the audience will not notice this guy is the same dude who had a teeny tiny little role in the first film.
I doubt those that do will stop paying attention to the action and spend the rest of the film trying to reconcile the two film's secondary casting.
fallam
:O Omfg! That fat guy could have his video on therealeffingdeal.com :O:O
Thats maybe how leo got into this whole business!!
And i'd laugh so hard if he's in it xD
He's just in paris and these protoforms hit buildings and he had that digital camera i would laugh so hard.
Tarkyroth
Well… I'd rather like to see that fat guy who ran to where Ratchet crashed and shouted "This is 100 times cooler than Armageddon, I swear to God!" Sure, I doubt many will recognize him, but it'll be incredibly humorous if he were at a place (say, Shanghai, Paris, Egypt, anywhere) that more Transformers land and repeat the exact same lines, complete with that digital camera, just as he did two years ago.
