Online store The Toy Valley has released their latest e-mail newsletter, containing new in-and-out-of-box photos of the Generation 1 Decepticon Gnaw bootleg. They describe the box as G1-accurate. No solid release date has been confirmed but the newsletter says it will be soon. In our last report, we had a tenative release date of December 2007, so it is assumed the KO Wheeljack, Sunstreaker, Devastator and Snarl are delayed as well.
*UPDATE* Optimus Scourge has heard back from The Toy Valley. They have notified him the toy is now in stock!

Please use the KO ID thread.

I would have difficulties spending 20 on this guy. But 80!?! That's just being greedy.
AMG
I have no interest in a $90 KO.
hyun007
Sorry about that, unfortunately they do not have the comparison of this KO toys to the real one. They only have comparison in box.

Please do not necropost. If you have a question regarding IDing KOs, there's a thread perfectly suited for your needs over in the toy discussion forum.

How do I differentiate a vintage loose Sharkitcon Gnaw to a KO one?
Kranix2k
I see so many people talking of how KO's devalue a collection. Monetarially wise, yes, I could see that. But the average collector like me that collects as a fun hobby and takes a certain level of pride in their collection, the devaluation of the collection occurs as there is a certain "impact" that is lost when you buy a KO versus the original toy. I know I could never buy a KO Sunstreaker and go "There's my G1 Sunstreaker!". I don't do that with my KO Superion…I don't sit there and go "That's my G1 Superion". I'm not sure what exactly it is, but there is an attribute of owning an original that just isn't there when one tries to fill in a gap in one's collection with a KO.

What is keeping people from making KO boxes and putting anything in them and calling them MISB?
Anyone can make a box, put something in it, SEAL it and call it MISB.
Don't you see a problem with that concept?
Keeping a fake toy in a sealed fake box to display as real in your collection seems to defeat the purpose of collecting. And that is because I think many of these "I WANT A MISB COLLECTION EVEN IF IT IS FAKE KOs" are people who are morally questionable to pass them off as real when they feel they can get away with it.
If you were buying to open and re-live your childhood, fine, I can at least understand that, but what is the pride in displaying fake garbage as real in MISB no less?

Unless the prices goes down to "Buy 4 G1 Sharkticons for the price of $20!!!!!!!!!!111!!!!", then my army of custom Movie accurate Sharkticons won't see light at all.
Gigatron_2005
Eh, I never really cared about the Sharkticons. Cool for those who do though.
Obviously not. Has/Tak has not reissued this toy. And if you say Gnaw is not popular, then you forget that they also reissued Wheelie.
Maybe. Although I doubt AFA is going to grade a "Dinobot Bomander" as a real G1 Grimlock.

Another KO pass. I'd rather pay around the same amount for a vintage one in good condition.
I also hope he's Encore'd. That would be sweet.
Paradigm-Shift Prime
No probs, can I get a 1/2 news credit for it? (jokes!)
Nemesis91078
ah it reminds me of the one i had…. still pricey for me
Optimus Scourge
Thanks, Paradigm-Shift Prime, I updated first post with box pics
exactly. I'm just posting what I found. It's not nessesarily for you to approve or argue about.
I want as many fans as possible to know of these KO's, especially those who may new to collecting, they have a right to know and beware before they buy.
nkelsch
And to know that there are going to be horrible knock offs presented as legitimate figures like the "ASIAN REISSUES" all over ebay now.
nkelsch
I want the Toy. I do not do MISB anything.
But a KO in a sealed box is bullcrap because *ANYONE* can make a Knockoff, and then make a box and then seal it in said box. Which means it has no value.
And in 3 years we are going to be lousy with people complaining about fake 'official' auctions with KO MISB bullcrap. And we are going to see this garbage AFA graded.
*IF you want the toy, you can get complete Sharkticons for 50$ or less
*IF you want the toy MISB, then the knockoff has no value to you because it isn't real.
So I don't see the appeal and why they should be supported. People think they have the RIGHT to own transformers. They don't. By buying knockoffs you hurt the ability for us to get official re-issues and screw up the ability to get a real COMPLETE original.
Knock Offs are an abomination.
Paradigm-Shift Prime
This gets a 'bleh' from me too.
For in box pics, this KO/bootleg Gnaw has been up on ebay for a little while. I assume the pics are of the new bootleg box:

The seller for the 2nd link ^ there I messaged and said that identifying it as 'Asian reissue' is misinforming and false info.
Runamuck
Exactly! I wish I could afford those, but I can't. A MISB G1 Hound just went for $400+ dollars on ebay. I want it, but I can't afford that.
