IDW Publisher Chris Ryall posted a couple of enigmatic sketch pages on his blog yesterday. He says they are from a Spotlight issue slated for June, but invites readers to guess who the issue’s featured character and artist are. Check it out here and click the thumbnail to view the rough pages.
Staxeon
Shiv would be cool, but it looks like they gave him….a backpack? Survivalist is one thing, but its a narrow line from crazy hobo. Its only a grocery cart away, which I guess makes the backpack a better choice.
They should also explain why a survivalist is bright traffic-cone orange.
Hoolagrin
Wheelie FTW! I hope they give him his necklace of sharkticon teeth and a lightsaber.
Only the fierce shall live!
Omegatron
Perhaps Wheelie will rap. I heard the kids are into it.
airfox
That'd be so wrong … I hope they do it.

Lord Of Tetris
Heh. What if Furman treats him like crud? A Waspinator or Kenny like character? It'd be hilarious if that was the finished art. Kinda a post-modern way of saying Wheelie isn't even worth an artist's time.
DeceptiKreep
I immediately thought Wheelie as well … although Cosmos popped into my mind as well.
ToddJumper
I think its wheelie. Why? Because I think a certain person let the cat out of the bag to me in private when I entered into the IDW Cover Artist contest.
I had mentioned I would love to draw wheelie, and the reply was "he" had already passed on that suggestion as one of the characters for the cover design contest, but that character had already been discussed and reserved for a future project. So to me this is 3 month old news.
no purpose guessing – a certain someone already hinted at it, but I am not naming names or reposting a private email with out his permission.
The Crazy Collector
Looks like Wheelie to me. And that's not necessarily a bad thing…
Railguard
cool, maybe I'll start collecting these things.
Fit For natalie
I love* how people are FREAKING OUT over the very idea of Wheelie possibly getting his own one-shot comic entirely because of their memory of the G1 cartoon, which, as we have seen by Furman's other work, does not really apply to IDW's G1 universe anyway, given how different some character personalities are, and Wheelie's own first appearance in this universe didn't have him rhyming.
*this is a lie.
General Magnus
Wow..I´m..just..wow it´s all I can say…
Triformis
At first glance: Wheelie. Um….there MUST be more to it than that.
Deonasis
I would be happy if he was like Wheelie from the Big Looker? book.
gservo
wheelie the war hamster
Bumble Prime
i think a spotlight about wheelie on a battle ravaged world being one of the only survivors would be awesome………
is wheelie really that bad if you dont have to hear his voice? (ala comic book)
Ironhide546
Taking something that was ******ed and making it awesome is always cool. I mean, just like the new He-Man cartoon. Twin Twist could be awesome redrawn to modern standards.
Personally, I'm the kind of guy who'd pick Wheelie, Twin Twist, or Arcee 10-times-out-of-10 over another Seeker, Rodimus, Prime, Magnus, Megatron, or car brother comic book or artwork.
Give it a chance. And if we are just going by toys, Ironhide and Ratchet are two of the worst Autobots ever
Optimus8404
Okay, so we make a Wheelie vs Arcee comic. And Arcee has been made into many toys, just not G1. Thank God we never saw another Wheelie toy…
Introverticon
And at least Wheelie has done things to prove his worth. Arcee's only notable accomplishment is being reconfigured into a life-support system for Daniel. Which, really, is only an accomplishment depending on who you're asking…
twincast X99
it might be wheelie.
Foster
…is Arcee. At least Wheelie had a toy.
