I am trying to figure out if this thing is legit or not. It is adveritsed as a test shot for the Botcon longarm figure. It comes with the Jazz head though. My brother is saying that it might be the type of test shot send to fun pub so they could do the remolding for long arm. Thoughts? Is it legit? Or is it a lunch time special? Also worth $100?

It's from china, it's fake. It's probably just a lunchtime special, meaning someone at the plant ran a batch of white / clear plastic on the mold. There's no reason for ANYONE to have 3 test shots of any figure, let alone it costing only 100 bucks. FAKE.

Dude, he's a scammer. This is the specific guy that Protoman was talking about in his talk at TFCon about fake prototypes. He's known for selling fakes.

If you wanna believe he's legit (which he isn't), you can buy whatever you want and believe it to be whatever you want. However, I can tell you 100% that he's a fake and he sells fake prototypes.

Just going by the alternate head I'm thinking it would have had to have been TFCC Treadshot. Hard to make out in all white. As to whether or not it's legit, your mileage may vary, given another of his listings is a table full of "exclusive" Joe club figures.

Why do you think they are fake? Also what are you using as your criteria for them being fake? I don't own any of these but I know people that do. They are not the crappy CHMS knock offs. This seller got testshots(unpainted) figures of Beast Hunter Shockwave and the Generations Orion, ATB Megs, and Bumblebee way before anyone else. He would have nothing to copy them from except from the Hasbro mold.

Please keep in mind this is not a personal attack, I just want to know the reasoning. I don't really buy newer prototypes but from what I can tell at least some of them are legit. Now the undertaker0611 userid, we know he has them made for him, so it's not out of the realm of possibilities. I'm just curious what your evidence for them being fake are.

Very interested in what information protoman has on this as I have acquired a number of Fe testshots that toysair is selling before her, she has also asked me in the past for and leads on acquiring new testshots.

1 - Test shots are never done in crazy colors like he sells. The reason they're all weird colors is because they just run the factory lines with whatever colors they have on hand. The workers illegally run the lines on their lunch breaks or after hours.

2 - They aren't crappy quality because they're the ACTUAL molds the retail figures are run on with the SAME plastics, just whatever colors are lying around.

3 - They come from China. This should be the biggest red flag. All prototypes and test shots come from Japan and are stamped with a "Not For Resale" in the plastic.

4 - Prototypes and test shots are destroyed after they're done with them, so very few ever make it out of Takara.

5 - Test shots are almost always hand painted, these are clearly molded.

6 - Price. Why would a real prototype be under a hundred bucks? It wouldn't.

7 - He has more than one. Seriously, why would ANYONE have 3 of the same prototype, let alone one? Use some common sense with this one.

I think I've hit all the main points. Even without the knowledge listed above, just use some common sense. Why would anyone have this many prototypes? Why are they so cheap? Think about it a little. I want these to be real like anyone else, but they aren't. Everyone thinks they're real because of the weird colors, but it's just because of the random plastics they use. Think about it a little and you'll realize they're very, very fake.

PS The Protoman talk from TFCon really needs to go up on youtube.

He's got that unannounced Grimlock Megatron test shot up too. Looks pretty legit to me. Probably a factory dude trying to get those bills paid.
