So I was in Toys r Us today and saw they had her, I almost bought her and decided not to. I think she is cool but the animated series altogether puts a bad taste in my mouth. I am pretty much only a g1 collector (I think universe/classics/henkei counts towards g1 collection in my eyes) but, I sort of like Arcee. I'm starting to feel a regret for not picking her up. G1 collectors out there, what do you think of Arcee?

I personally think she doesn't work standing with Classics/Universe molds.

But she looks BITCHIN' standing with Animated molds.

I havent opened my Arcee yet.

I'd consider myself primarily a "g1 collector" at heart, but that hasnt stopped me from getting and enjoying ALOT of TFs from other lines. There are absolute gems in all the lines that I collect outside of the g1 continuity. The animated line is just one of them.

Well, she's a GREAT figure, full of character and awesome engineering. But she is also very VERY much an Animated figure. She fully embraces the aesthetic of the line. She does it beautifully, but it's still the Animated aesthetic.

So, basically, ask yourself this: Do you like the character of Arcee and/or the Animated toy to have her as a standalone figure? She's not going to look right with your displays (If they're all G1 or G1-esque like Classics), so chances are you'll have her on your desk by herself. As a stand-alone figure, she's still excellent though.

I'd recommend getting her, though, if you see her again. She's a really nice figure to have, and great hand-candy for your desk. And if you don't like her, she's easy enough to flip on eBay, even loose. The price of a deluxe isn't a huge investment, so even if you don't love her, it's not a huge loss.

Just be sure you get her for what she is, and not some hope she can be shoehorned in with Classics and/or G1.
