Is there any plan for DVD/Blu-Ray release of Transformers: Prime?
I want to enjoy TFP by DVD, but there is no information anywhere.

I hope it comes to DVD. My torrents are high quality, but a DVD purchase(... Or rip. Don't look at me like that! When I get a job I'll gladly pay for a DVD.) would be so much better. All the shadows and lighting are too pixalated on my torrents.

There's no ANNOUNCED plans for DVD/Blu-Ray YET. I wouldn't be so quick to write it off.

Yup. Any news of a release probably won't come down the line until Season 1 is finished.

I'm hoping they make Blu-Ray Discs for the series.

The qualities for the animation are to good to be just DVD.

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't miss the chance to do so. They just haven't announced it yet. If it comes out on Blu-Ray (which is a given if it gets a DVD release, since it IS in HD anyway), I'll buy it in an instant.

Wasn't there a news item about one of the TFP figure sets coming with the DR 5 parter (or part of it) on DVD??? Thinking it was the Prime/Megs set, but not certain about that.

Anyway, I believe there will be a DVD set, when Season 1 is finished and the beginning of Season 2 is underway...maybe in time for Christmas..it's when I would try to release it.

There has never been a US Transformers cartoon that hasn't been released on DVD so there shouldn't be any doubt that Prime will get its release at some point.

    RID/TFA season 3

OT- I too am sure Prime will make it to at least DVD, hopefully Blu-ray. Honestly I'm more worried about MLP getting a full release.

I hope they release darkness rising episodes 1-5 as an actual Transformers movie. As well as me, I'm sure my young TF loving nephew would enjoy that much more than the MBay movies.

But yes, I'd snap this up.

Those are due to ownership rights for the series. Happens all the time in non-TF media too. As Hasbro owns the network that produces TFPrime, I don't see this being an issue.

Gosh, this fandom's as paranoid as G1 Red Alert sometimes...

You and me both. I'd love to get my hands on some Prime Blu-ray discs.

yep you are correct paranoia has kicked in early this time. Ive kinda got a reason to be doubtful as I live in England and the dvd releases of transformers here have been really inconsistant and frustraighting they give us whole season box sets of the weaker stuff like robots in disguise(not once but twice) and that dodgy takara seasons like headmasters, masterforce and victory but nearly completely neglect beast wars and give us (incomplete)transformers animated in little overpriced volumes with no extras. theres also some (probable) comercial faliers I mean they have also released g1 in really nicely boxed whole seasons which was fantastic and no doubt every transfan in the country got them and then they rerelease g1 only a few years later but with weaker packaging and gues what dvd shops country wide like hmv got loads of unsold g1 boxsets.theres also comercial insanity as they also released beast machines (which I was kinda pleased with) but they released it alongside the first movie as if to cash in on the new movies success as it had a similar slogan with "there planet. A new war". marketing a difficult oddity like beast machines as extended viewing for newly converted movieverse fans is just complete insanity!

I know the reasons for all this are probably really mundane and legal like a company owns copywright to transforners at certain time so cant release folowing season until a contract ends etc but this time they have what is arguably the best transformers cartoon yet and all of us want it to reach its target audiences and gain huge comercial success so it can continue long and I would love a reasonably priced season 1 box set with desent extras

I meant in some form, not necessarily complete. Believe me, I'm well aware that we currently have no TFA season 3 :mad
