So im sure ill probably get murdered or something for posting a toy discussion thread, but well im curious what other people want to see. What are your biggest "must have" features these toys should contain? What size classes would you like to see them in? Plus you can always add extra input, and opinion. The features im particularly wanting other than them being somewhat 90% screen accurate is the inclusion of there melee, and blaster weapons. Seeing each robot with a set of bad ass blades, and blasters was really cool in the show. So id obviously like to see it carry over into the toys. Though I dont mind if there hands dont transform into them. As long as they're included. Id also enjoy if Primes battle mask could lower down, and show his face. As for size class here's my list. I personally dont want Prime or Megatron to be leader class figures. There just to big for me, and im not sure what the next class size is down from that. Its smaller than a leader, but bigger than a voyager. So as for the rest Arcee-Scout Bumblebee-Deluxe Cliffjumper-Deluxe *yeah hes dead, but I still want a figure loved his design* Bulkhead-Voyager Ratchet-Either Deluxe or Voyager would be fine Starscream-Voyager Soundwave-Voyager, but deluxe yet again wouldnt bother me. Eradicons-Deluxe So theres all ive got, and im interested in seeing what others want. Thanks for your time!
For the initial set of characters, here's what I'd like to see laid out: Deluxe Class: Arcee Bumblebee Cliffjumper Ratchet Eradicon (Car) Eradicon (Jet) Soundwave Voyager: Starscream Bulkhead Prime Megatron Leader: Prime Megatron Like Animated, I would like to see size options for the two big names.
First off, I'm putting money on the fact that the Eradicons won't be mainline toys and if by some chance they are they will be limited to 1 per case or worse, be TRU exclusives to be included in some pointless 2 or 3 pack thereby forcing you to own crap you don't want in order to get them, such as the way of Hasbro these days. Legends (the main tfprime cast) Deluxe (the main tfprime cast) Voyager - Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee(Sadly) Leader - Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee(sadly) then everything else made will be all about Bumblebee (as usual) Alternate Eradicons (Jet drill versions or with alternate paint apps) - SDCC and Botcon Exclusives (just you watch) I am also more than likely sure that not one Prime toy will look anything like it's show counterpart. TFPrime Merch will be few and far between like Generations, simply because maybe about 40% of the population in this country will actually have the HUB channel.
There appears to be so little mass to Soundwave, that i'm wondering if it's better off as a Deluxe, but for all i know, Hasbro may turn it out as a Supreme with electronics.
If we end up with Leader class figures, i hope voyager versions come available for them too, since I hate big toys. I also don't want any of the cast to be smaller than a deluxe. And only the really big characters should be voyagers. Scout class is doing wonderfully as it's own little bundle of joy. They could continue that with Prime style figures in the size class. Legends should be a mix of everything.
As for the deluxe size Soundwave. Remember Lockdown was lanky, but he folded out to be huge. Id like to see that happen with Soundwave. After all he is about as tall as Starscream. Ive got to admit, this is just me being a wanker, but id love to see rubber tires again I do expect Prime, and Megatron to be Leaders though. I liked the concept Beast Wars had. In that this is the character, this is the size class you get him in. I think im one of the few people that dont like Megatron, and Optimus being or any character being in multiple size classes. I always worry if the Voyager will end up better than the Leader. Then they'll be out of scale. Yeah ill admit im a scale psycho, but I only like to have one incarnation of each character. Thats why I want Acree in a scout class, or to be a small Deluxe. I mean im gonna buy the best looking incarnation of each character anyways, but id like to see them in scale. As for Megatron, and Optimus though. Ill most likely get them in there largest size classes. I just hope we finally get an epic Megatron figure. That will actually match up with the great Optimus Primes we've been getting. Im sure the toys will be fairly accurate, because if they can do Animated, and those toys were damn accurate. Im sure this wont be to much of a problem.
Deluxe: Arcee Bumblebee Cliffjumper Eradicon (car-style) Eradicon (digger-style) Eradicon (jet-style) Voyager: Bulkhead Ratchet Soundwave Starscream Breakdown Leader: Optimus Prime Megatron
Deluxe: Arcee Bumblebee Cliffjumper Eradicon (car) Eradicon (digger) Eradicon (jet) Soundwave? Starscream? Voyager: Bulkhead Ratchet Soundwave? Starscream? Optimus Prime Megatron Leader: Optimus Prime Megatron ss and soundwave are so thin ,so I guess I could live with deluxes.also if I get only voyager megatron then having a deluxe starscream would make sense
I don't think you should be murdered, threatened with violence, or be the target of ill will over starting this thread. Having just watched the entire mini-series with my brother last night, I couldn't help wanting some toys of these characters and thinking about what I want out of the toyline. For my ideal vision of this toyline, I'd split it into two sub-lines. Using a combination of size class and level of detail/engineering as the framework for each sub-line. I'd further break down the lines as follows: Scale/Size Classifications All figures in the same scale, size class should follow scale appropriately. Having duplicates of characters across size classes would be used as an option to have all characters available at various price points. Since Arcee is the smallest, the scale of each sub-line would be based on her figure. All other characters would be in scale with her and placed in appropriate size class. Series A Based on Arcee as a scout-class figure. Two-packs of the core human characters could fill out the scout class for this line (Jack/Raf two-pack, Fowler/Miko two-pack). Series B Based on Arcee as a deluxe. Detail/Engineering Series A This would be the simpler, "main-line" versions of the characters. Relatively simple transformations in the 3-4 level range. Detail and paint apps would create reasonably show-accurate representations of the characters. Weaponry would likely be attachable at the smaller size classes, with possible conversion gimmick on larger figures (character design permitting). All parts should be attachable/concealable in both modes. Series B This would be a higher-end line targeted at older fans and collectors. Think Masterpiece/Alternator/Human Alliance level of detail and complexity. Show accuracy would be on a higher level, with paint applications to enhance molded detail and match the visual/tactile quality of the in-show renders. All figures would include show-accurate multi-weapon arm conversions and LED lighting effects. Sound effects only on figures that would not be compromised by space needed for electronics. Rubber tires and chrome for added realism and enhanced quality. Characters All characters should have figures, including all Eradicon variants. I'd like to list some specific features for each character, but I'll need to come back later since I don't have the time to do that right now. For now, I will say that I'd love to have Optimus with a show-accurate retractable faceplate and Soundwave must have his chest deployer.
