While it's not much in the way of "juicy" news, it was nice to see Optimus and Bumblebee front and center for the Collider article.

It appears that Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner is definitely hoping to get something off the ground.

Most of us with a pulse probably "knew" this based on Dark of the Moon's success, but it's encouraging to hear that we will/may be getting another film.

i think it'd be cool to see a fourth movie, have Galvatron, Overlord, Straxus or any other Decepticon General show up and want to conquer earth because Megatron and the Fallen failed. and if Bay doesn't want to come back, i'm sure they can find someone who would do it justice and keep it going, possibly making a 2nd trilogy of movies...

It's just a distraction. We all know it'll be Primal and Cheetor for TF4.

Hasbro in Talks for Fourth 'Transformers' Movie, Cuts 'Ouija' Budget - The Hollywood Reporter

The hollywood reporter is saying the samething too.

This is highly promising! Thank god for no reboots. I hope they finally pick up some of the outlying plot threads and fill in some of the story gaps still left. Like say why the allspark was on cybertron to begin with, and the rammifications of it being gone now which could also deal with the damage the planet has taken during DOTM. They've got the perfect left over plot points to make cybertron be unicron to fill in some of these gaps.

Now here's hoping we do get a galvatron and unicron movie. They've got lots of story left to go that's possible, and Bay has just recently finally scratched the surface of what's possible action-wise, so there are still tons of oomph he can do. Maybe they might even do the galvatron that's not a reformatted megatron. One can only hope so they let the dead stay dead.

    Good News, But Worried Too

I’m worried that they mention Michael Bay in that article. I really hope they hand over the directing reins to someone else, but still keep Bay involved in a producing capacity. He’s done three films already. We’ve all seen what he can do, three times! I think its time to give it a fresh feel. Besides, doesn’t he want to do something else?

Ugh. Just let the goddamned movie franchise die before it strangles another good cartoon to death, keeps us from more Classics, and makes Optimus Prime look like more of an asshole.

Congratulations. You made money. Now let us have nice things.

Yes, now that Bay might be less directly involved, everything people didn't like about the previous three will be quietly swept under the rug.
If 'No means no', as producer he's likely to still be pretty hands on in deciding who gets the job. Sorry, but the song is going to remain much the same.

    I'm sick of the Bayformers-verse.

At least we have TF: Prime and War for/Fall of Cybertron capable of at least telling good stories.

Uh, did you compeletely ignore the Reveal the Shield stuff like Jazz and Perceptor, and Generations, which were out at the same time as movie stuff?

Also, G1 wasn't a "good" cartoon. Animated and TF: Prime are good cartoons, the latter of which we wouldn't even have if it weren't for the movie.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the raging has already begun just at the announcement of an announcement regarding TF4. :lol

Did you expect the CEO of Hasbro to say something else? IMO this is nothing different than the tweets we see from Tyrese but with a little more credibility.

I always preferred G1 to the Bayverse movies, as enjoyable as they were. They've grown on me, I admit, but they ended it well.

I suppose Megs could come back as Galvatron, etc. But I think it's time for a reboot, myself.

Okay I can understand TF 4, Micronauts, and Clue.

But Monopoly and Risk is where I draw the line.

G1 was an excellent cartoon for its time, what are you talking about??? Better than any of the other popular cartoons at the time - MOTU, GI Joe, Thundercats, etc.

You've got to look at these things in context, man. :)

Monopoly could be a great movie - I mean, wouldn't it basically just be something like Wall Street?

Not sure what Risk would be like... I guess some kind of Napoleonic-type epic set in an alternate timeline with the same geography but different nations?

The movies may be directly responsible for us getting nice things like Classics.

Anyways, I'm glad they want to do a fourth film (I don't want a reboot just a few years after a third film...I'm still not fond of a reboot being employed with the next Spiderman, even if Emma Stone is involved, and I'd be even less fond of it with Transformers) but I'm not so happy if Bay is involved in negotiations. I don't think I'm thrilled Spielberg is either, considering he clearly isn't insistent on a quality product being delivered, though admittedly if they're negotiating with Paramount, I guess Spielberg would be involved somehow as long as he still wants to be.

I am very curious to see how this plays out.
