I can see this going either way, but I think the most telling thing is that the last movie is at $1.1 BILLION. It is only $2 million away from number 4 on the all-time top grossing list. People dont just walk away from that kind of success, no matter how burnt out you are. But, I do like the idea of waiting a few years. That let's Bay and Shia recharge a bit and gives the fans time to build up the anticipation and demand for a new film.

If they do reboot it, I hope they do a prequel of all 3 movies. Take it back to Cybertron where we know there will be no humans around.

I'm not sure that I want to see a prequel movie on Cybertron. Take into account that the Cybertronian forms look too much alike and everyone would basically be silver, gold, or copper in color. It would be disastrous. I mean, I'm sure they could change this, but it would be such a retcon since we've clearly scene what they look like in their raw alien forms.

I'd prefer a reboot at this point, which I can't see Hasbro not doing at some point down the road, especially since all three of the live action movies have proven to be a financial success. Sure, they've said that there wouldn't be a reboot, but they've also flip-flopped on a lot of things...especially when financial gain is the premise.

DOTM left nothing open, with the exception of a few random Decepticon protoforms, who we all know would die from a lethal combination of America Fuck Yeah and baby bullets anyway. Not only that, but the premise of bringing Megatron and other lead Decepticons back is silly. They're only going to be killed again.

I hope not. It's time for something new in the TF movie franchise. Maybe something with a compelling story and main characters who are....I dunno...Transformers?!?!

I'd be ok either way. I mean, I love the movies for what they are, but I wouldn't mind a new take either.

No offence to Mr. Gibson, but his word in the greater scheme of things means absolutely nothing. This is just him thinking out loud, nothing more. Could happen, yes, but probably won’t. However, just to be hypothetical for a moment, if I had to choose, I would say there’s more chance of Michael Bay returning than Shia LaBeouf.

Still, I’m hoping for someone new to take the director’s chair. Bay can do only one thing. He does it well, but he’s done it three times already. Give someone else a go. Despite what Spielberg and some of the actors involved in the franchise keep on saying, there are plenty of directors out there who are more than capable of handling a Transformers film.

We've already heard snippets that there will be no reboot, so I wouldn't be surprised if Bay comes back for a forth movie in a couple of years. I can't see Shia ever coming back, which is fine by me. I'd rather have Lennox, Simmons, and Epps (plus a bunch of no-name NEST guys) be the only main humans in the film.

Hasbro and Paramount say a lot of things.

I still wouldn't dismiss an eventual reboot, regardless of what they're saying now.

I like many others had a horrible sour taste in my mouth after the 2nd Bay movie but after seeing the 3rd I have to say I was very impressed with how it turned out. I wouldn't mind seeing Bay and Shai make TF4. But if it was a reboot I would like to see a Beast Wars movie with a build up to Nemesis, Part 1 and 2. Do the premier at Botcon in 4d with live animals from the show walking around.(a gorilla and rhino would be fine) I know that probably won't happen but if it did I would love it.

I would love to see that. If they can make a successful movie of 10,000 BC than they can make a (semi) Live Action Beast Wars movie. Perhaps I should practice my scriptwriting skills (which are quite low) and write it up myself...

    B.O.T:

I would love for the fourth one to continue 20 years into the future, let Kevin Dunn play Sam. :drunk

But seriously, I'd even like it if Sam was there as a cameo, where he either dies or moves on and we get introduced to a brand new, original, human character... civiliain. (sp?)

I seriously doubt there will be a reboot, at least not for another 10 years. There will be a TF4. I hope they bring back some of the human cast (the soldiers, Turturro, Director Mearing, etc), but I am pretty much done with Sam. Shia has made him annoying over the last two movies, although I liked him a lot in the first one. His character arc is done, and despite what I said it was satisfying as a character arc.

.....Unless they make Sam a headmaster :D

That he may have just used the term Transformers as Synonymous with the Movie franchise alone as if the rest of Transformer-dom does not matter or exists irks me.

He seems to be doing that though by saying :

    Quote:
...but for people to love this franchise around the world like they do, it's damn-near crazy to not give the fans what they love and enjoy again.
He's talking about fans of the Transformers Movie franchise which is not a term interchangeable with the term Transformers Fan in my book.

It's like the difference between a Casual and Hardcore Doctor Who Fan

Or may be i'm selling him short and he's got Fortress Maximus on his sideboard at home.
