BBTS has a listing for Masterpiece Grimlock showing it as a re-issue on their front page: BigBadToyStore.com - Toys, Action Figures, Vintage Toys, and Collectibles

But the item page says nothing about it being a re-issue: MP-08 Masterpiece Grimlock - Transformers Masterpiece Masterpiece at BigBadToyStore

    Expected in August for $144.99.

I'm guessing this is a re-issue similar to what we got with Skywarp last year. I wonder if they will be fixing the "More than meets teh eye" message on the front of the box.

It bothers me when they throw around "re-issue" so readily. It's just additional product coming off the assembly line (or even product that was held back during initial production) for future sales. It's cool to see these will still be available aside from the secondary market for a little while, though.

But it's still technically a reissue as they will be doing a separate second run of the figure.

Either way it's good news for people who missed out on him the first time, totally worth the price of admission if you ask me.

I'll wait for a US release. If there isn't, then no big deal...

definately worth the price, but sadly my budget won't allow me to spend that much on a singe fig right now, even for the god of all Grimlocks

That price is great for a great piece. If I didn't have one already I would jumping on board for the second round.

But it's a whole DOLLAR more than I paid for mine from BBTS!!

Totally agree with the sentiment in this thread. MP Grimlock is worth every penny.

My only gripe about it was that the box was about 2-3 inches too thick compared to what was inside. That would have saved a little space on the top of my display case.

To anyone on the fence on him, if you can afford him I would strongly recomend this figure. He might not be MP-01 big but he is large, sturdy and has amazing detail to him. The gimics flow seemlessly and flawlessly into his two modes none are a hinderence to him in ether Robot or Dinomode. The hand gimic with the lighting works great and that arm is just as posable as the other one.

How much was Grimlock the first time around?

Speaking of which, Takara's second run on these Masterpieces have been pretty bad. I was disgusted on how poor the quality control was on my MP-04. And then there was the problem with Ultra Magnus and his lights.

I can attest, MP Grimlock is awesome. I would wait a little while longer for his price to drop, though. The market will saturate in this economy, trust me.

Wait for the price to drop a few buck, then snag him. MP Grimlock is great, but at $144, he is overpriced a little (I paid $130 w/shipping for mine).
