Indeed, mysteries revolve around that cube and that number written on it... It can only make me wonder if that cube tastes as vanderful as they claim... *drool*

Somebody seems to share Mur's way of thinking on the place.

Pretty grim stuff for such comic figures to be going through. There's an interesting contrast here between the cute little guys and their circumstances.

Are the seekers sucking power from the mini-cons? And mining for something?

YO14,sc,TC: This will become clear shortly...:D

mh: Well, the only alternatives to the "survive until tomorrow" plan may not be the most desirable...:)

DP: It's a nasty place, probably much worse than I've shown here, but better than the alternatives, so you can imagine...

A mystery, indeed...there will be more on this, shortly...

TC: Well, it's hard to say, and I really haven't had a chance to delve into that...I'm not even sure how I would. Ideas such as "flavor" are devilishly hard to convey. I imagine it would taste pleasant...highly energetic foodstuffs tend to taste good to us. Whether energon would have "food value" is a good question, too. I tend to see it as a highly universal fuel, good for energizing a variety of mechanoids and mechanisms, but without the various hydrocarbons a technorganic would need as raw material...basically, sugar, or a recharge.

Anything would taste pretty darn good after four days of nothing!

KP: Perhaps...we'll see more today...here I go being vague again...:)

SA: I just hope the contrast isn't introducing too much awkwardness. One thing I'm trying to avoid is inappropriate levity, and that's always a risk.

Quick recharge, work 'em till they drop, quick recharge, repeat. It's an energon mine, per 7.01, and it produces 3/4 of the Seeker army's fuel.

FF: Ratchet's gonna get ya. :)

dw: Glad you liked it. The comic looked a bit off without it, and then I realized, "Hey, if there's light to see at all, the eyes should reflect..."

    New one up soon, folks!

    Folks:
Another double-shot. Can't wait until we get out of this stretch, and into something where there's at least some possibility for heroics...I'm surprised by how difficult these are to write. Once you get to know characters, it's no fun to put 'em through hard times, and as you will see..well...

Hmmm...things are starting to get complicated, but at least Mur isn't dead (then again, neither she nor Tsu can die since they're SD's shinkis anyways and will have to eventually get back to "Transhinki World and Friends"...I think)

I know the feeling, I encountered that in planning out a later part of my current story arc. I'd love to skip it entirely and have everything be happy go lucky, but in order for there to be great parts of a story, you do need the super-dark parts to contrast and emphasize those good events. You're doing a good job with the "super-dark" part in your story right now, since I'm not the only one who wants to see the LegoShinkis reunited, right?

I'm thinking a diversion... Of course I read Sluggy Freelance and just read something similar over the past couple weeks, so it could just be me thinking along the same lines due to the recent memory of such a story.

No, I don't think it's awkward. You've set up the world and the characters, and within that context it works very well.

    I get it. :thumb

It is interesting to write sometimes, as I discovered while finishing Cheetor's arc in my Beast Machines comics. Although, admittedly, he never went through what your little guy is facing, so it's not really the same thing.

Really interested to see what's going on in the next update.

AB: Yes, they do have to get back there. However, SD didn't specify what condition. I'm sure he can rebuild her. He has the technology.

And remember what Vector said...he didn't rule anything out...

And when you think about it, Shinkis 'die', in a sense, every time you swap out CSC orbs. Creepy, when you think about it! I wonder what they think...

And characters don't always have to be alive, you know? Your Rin is playing her role pretty well. And we've got a certain holiday coming up, and...well, I could go on like this for a long while, but a lot of it would be misleading anyway. But pay close attention to next episode. :D

Besides all that, remember how they're getting back...Reset's quantum wave-crusher device. That's still floating around out there. As I see it, it basically works by "ruling out possibilities".

This whole plotline could become an inevitable downward slide, to an endpoint that just happened to be the one ruled out, proving Vector right and saving the universe, and bringing SD's characters back by eliminating the possibility that they ever left. It could be that, but it isn't, because it would be kind of unhappy to write, and because I'm not a good enough writer to pull it off. (To see something like this done brilliantly, look at
JetNotSkyfire's comic.) So this is another red herring, but the point is that when we start messing with literary quantum mechanics, existence becomes...interesting. :D

Nope, I'd like to see the team back together, too. I just don't know if it's a possibility at this point. We shall see...

YO14: There will definitely be pertinent info coming up, yes.

SD: I read Sluggy as well. The current arc makes me Very Happy. Be well!
It's always more fun to see Riff playing with tech, than Torg being dumb.
However, I'm not so sure about what Abrams did to get that arc going, and in some way I'm actively trying to avoid something too similar. I don't like yankin' the audiences chains too much.

Vagueness rules the day, but next ep will explain a bit more. Let's just say this was not Panzer Voodchuck's plan...

sc: He didn't work her to death, although at this point that was certainly his plan. She isn't faking, though, but I am being annoyingly vague.

FF: Yes, he's not much in Energon, but there was a time when Pyro wasn't anybody either, and now, well...:D

mh: That is a very good rule. Of course, she was starving, so it probably got ignored...and yes, we shall see. :D

    SA: Thanks!

I never did finish OL...I should go back and do that...

dw: Yeah, I wasn't too sure about that sound effect. I wanted it to sound like a set of heavy steel doors slamming shut, echoing through the tunnel. Something loud enough to wake the dead, you might say...

    DP:
Yes, the guards are particularly nasty. You'll see who actually runs it next time...and as I vaguely hinted at before, her part in this story isn't done, but she's not playing, either. :D  Vague vague vague...

Let me tell you, though, the Ravages aren't the most evil dudes in Fort Scyk...

Dang but this is gripping stuff. The bleak brutality of Pazer Voodchuck's situation has been very well evoked over these last few strips, as has her fight to stay unbroken mentally. I let out a little cheer when she clocked that guard with a pickaxe, but then I realized what it was going to cost her and genuinely wished she hadn't. One can imagine that being so helpless before such brutality and cruelty must be especially hard for someone like her, who can usually summon weapons at will kick the ass of anyone who looks at her cock-eyed. I'm really glad you've not rushed through these sections Autobus, but rather chosen to let them play out. Its resulted in some excellent, gritty drama.

So someone is clearly supplying her energon, but for good or for ill?
