The brown on Jetfire is not so vivid as it seems in other pics that have been posted elsewhere. It blends perfectly with the black color and it looks more like rust. It is also better in plane mode, where all the robot parts don't stand out so much like in the regular version.

 

damn very nice, i already got the first buster prime and repainted my hasbro primes head to match it, but id love that jetfire

 

I think I've just been sold on this pack. Going to see if I can pick this up at either TFCon or BotCon next year.

Jetfire looks a lot better with the dark colours on his robot parts. Surprised they didn't manage to fit any chrome onto him somewhere, like they did with Buster Prime. Although I'm glad they didn't. A chromed stealth jet would look a bit silly (sorry Sky Raven).

I picked this set up and I'm glad I held out on the original Buster Prime, especially since I'm cutting down on my TF expenditure! X)

 

I got the 2-pack version today and made a few comparison pics.











Funny thing, Hasbro states this:

is Jetpower Prime's official form, but after reading Jetfire's article on tfwiki, I think this:

is the intended form. Note how Prime's shoulder armor can plug into Jetfire's arm guards. Also note that Prime's back panels lie flat on the sides of his Jetfire backpack.

 

Shoulder armor on Prime? To what are you referring good sir? as I am a bit confused as to what you are meaning. I can see the differences, though I can't see what you did. Perhaps a few pics of the side and rear of the figure to better explain what it is that you've accomplished would be in order if you don't mind that is.

 

*009 - nice comparison pictures! Did you place papers under Buster Prime to prevent his feet from getting scratched?  

Omegaprime1983 - I think the shoulder armour refers to the tube-like thingies at the side of Optimus' shoulders?

 

The shoulder armor I referred to would be those prongs that you swing around when you transform him. Here's the wiki article I mentioned:

I don't understand the phobia about scratching his chrome. I you don't scratch his feet by yourself the chrome will never leave.

 

Received this set last night from RobotKingdom! They even through in a free Japanese EZ Collection Bonecrusher from the first movie!

All in all the set is totally worth it. After enjoying the box and proudly staring at the awesome display for at least an hour, I set about removing the shiny contents. I already had Buster Optimus Prime, so the two-pack version wasn't something I was super excited about.

However I have to admit that the blue pinstriping around the flames is a lot nicer than the white pinstriping on the single release. Its great that we can now swap heads between the two so you can make the combination that you like best. I know a lot of people like the battle mask, but I like seeing his real face. Now I have one version in robot mode and one version in vehicle mode in my display case.

The Jetfire is ridiculously better than the Hasbro release. In fact, after opening him and just eyeing him up, I immediately packed the Hasbro Jetfire up...and he will now remain at work on my desk. He is no longer worthy of living in my apartment or being displayed. This should have been the Jetfire we got. Now the alternate mode isn't any different, other than the fact that all the "undercarriage" is a little tougher to visually sort out thanks to the darker coloring. So it does look better in that aspect, but its the robot mode that really shines.

I haven't tried combining them yet...I'm a little terrified to do so, cause I really don't want to harm the paint applications on either toy...and it gives me some little excuse to keep the Hasbro versions.

 

Got mine today for NT$3299 at costco....
