There are some nice features I didn't read about before. He's THICK, but he's not very heavy... about a bit heavier than a MP Seeker. His little helmet-cable thing has a suction cup, but I almost would have rathered it have been a magnet.

He poses very well and doesn't feel cheap at all. His feet have this nice little... almost hydrolic, adjustment thing to them.

The paint is very simple, but VERY Grimlock. I like the eye change gimmicks. The robot mode one has a little nub that flicks back and forth the colors, where as the dino head lifts apart to change. He's very articulate. His waist moves very well and his legs do whatever you'd want. The shoulders are on thick ball joints. The midget dino arms are also ball jointed and the little claws hurt against your skin. His teeth are likewise pretty sharp.

Overall, he's absolutely awesome. He's worthy of the MP line and I would consider it my favorite.

How did you get your's already?

 

I got it from a board member in China and after some bad experiences with Masterpieces, it was a good opportunity to have someone I trusted give it a once over and make sure all of the parts were in good shape.

The figure is rugged. Obviously way more than Megatron, but I'd say more so than the Seekers.

 

No QC issues?

D'oh, still too pricey for me. And he's lucky his unit got vetted before he got it so that he knew he was getting a solid one with no qc issues. that's some good hookups man.

 

Looks great I hope to have the money for this guy before he starts shipping.

 

ZERO Quality Control issues. It's entirely not a regrettable buy. I love it.

Ignorant question: What is the inspiration behind the red/blue eye-switching gimmick (cartoon, comic, etc.)?

 

Toy had red eyes, Show had Blue eyes.
