Just came in today along with Dirt Boss and a replacement Waspinator. The verdict? Awesome!




His alt mode is a cruiser/destroyer type of boat, painted in a blue-grey camo:








His alt mode is in NO WAY proportional to other scouts!  



Transformation is pretty cool, the front folds out to form legs and the rear end twists and turns to form the torso and arms, leaving you with a tall, spindly robot:







Or a regular basic-sized figure:







I thought maybe I had messed up with the taller mode once I discovered the shorter version with the heels flipped all the way back, but it appears they're BOTH correct. The heel piece has a little tab on it that doesn't lock into anything in boat mode:



But looking inside the leg, there are TWO places for it to snap into, one for the taller mode, and one higher up on the leg for the shorter mode:



The shorter mode puts him right in line height-wise with the other scouts:



You can turn the waist around and have it look nice as well:





So it's really all personal preference. I used the taller mode in my video review, then shot a short update showing the smaller mode, before I noticed that BOTH seem to be correct transformations. Very cool.

And since I've gotten used to doing them, the super macro face shot, showing the rebreather-type facemask:



Wow, that actually looks kinda of creepy now that I see it full-size. If it weren't for the Autobot logo I'd think this was a Decepticon!

I really like these scouts so much better than the Real Gear ones.

 

I like that one better than Scrapper and Knockout.

 

Are those missile batteries on the back of the boat able to be lifted up at an angle? They look like they are meant to.

 

Yeah, they're on ball joints and can rotate all the way up to a vertical position if desired.

 

he looks decent. sucks a battle ship is the same scale and smaller than a motorcycle...what's up with his face? lol

Simple but nice. I like it but I will get him only if he appears on the movie.

 

The shorter legged version makes it a buy for me! I think he looks silly with his legs elongated, but with them set in the "updated" mode, he looks awesome. Plus, an Autobot! I really thought he was going to be a Decepticon. He is one bad-azz Autobot. Thanks Peaugh!

 

I covet this figure. I covet it greatly. And I yearn for it to be repainted even bluer as Seawatch, because a nice little frigate like this is perfect for Seawatch.

 

really sweet design, i'm actually a bit disappointed he's not Voyager or larger, because, i mean, i'm not a super stickler for scale, but he is insanely out of proportion with the rest of the gang...

 

Preordered as soon as BBTS gets him up, I love this guy. And like I always says you can NEVER have too many scouts.

 

That "stilt mode" is an incredibly odd feature. I wonder what they're going to call it.

Hmm I am gunna get this one but I think a remold is in order to make it something that is in scale with the others.

Also when I look at him with those hands and face I keep thinking about that frog from RID. I can see a repaint along with the remold now.

 

He's tiny

Update on the legs, they look good turned around at the waist as well:

 

^ Yeah, having the waist flipped works best from what I can see. Do the legs still bend in a normal way with the waist flipped?
