    Aiuole:

Ideas don't always carry through from start to finish. Originally i was going for something round, something cute and cuddly, hence the name Aiuole (meaning 'flowerbeds' in Italian). That kinda went out the window last night, when i modeled his head. My Happy Hunter head just doesn't work for cute and cuddly, but it fit so well on this guy i just had to take it. So 'round-cute' became 'round-scary'. The end result i imagine like a Kremzeek in a nuclear meltdown. I went for a demented mutant sorta look with the colour scheme in the end.

Also, originally i was more focused on the robot mode (which became a cute but demented gremlin), trying to keep it relatively cute (okay, i failed miserably at that). But then i got to modeling the guns. They're styled after the Seekers' Null Rays, and ultimately firepower is so important, who cares if the guns are longer than he is tall? Not me. I wanted the huge gun a lot, lot more. I even stuck energy tanks in his chest to store the energon for those guns. That's how much i like the gun mode. :lol

It's available for purchase at my Shapeways shop here: Aiuole by Treadshot A1 on Shapeways

The gun mode uses my standard hybrid 5mm-3mm connector. This peg is a 5mm peg just like all the standard weapons, but also has a 3mm clip cut into it, so it's perfect for things like Breacher.

    Hope you guys like him!

    Evask A1900:

Sometimes you just want to kill everything in sight and ask questions later. That's where Evask A1900 comes in. This cute little robot hides a destructive, sadistic secret. In alt. mode, his cheery personality disappears, and fires without a care, gladly killing anything and everything. Turn him back into robot mode, and he suddenly reverts back to a nicer, cuter robot. In truth, he's only happy in robot mode because he's daydreaming, reliving his kills all day long.

This guy stems from my desire to have a robot who simply doesn't give a damn. I figured, what better than a Gatling gun for mindless killing? I wanted Evask A1900 to not resemble himself in gun mode, basically look completely different in either mode. I went with a colour palette designed to make the robot much more friendlier looking than Aiuole, while still keeping a dark enough colour scheme to feel heartless in gun mode, and threw in some steel/gray parts to remove any remaining traces of nice-ness in gun mode.

The "A1900" coding is a reference to another board member, zoso1900. :)

He'll be on my Shapeways shop soon. :)

    Hope you guys like him!

    Petal v2

It's been so long since i worked on Petal, my Gun-former. There's really no difference aesthetically in the new version, but all the joints have been replaced with newer systems, except the chest, which uses the old system out of necessity. The transformation was also reworked.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Function: Sentry
    Allegiance: N/A
Height : 60mm (cannon to toes)
Articulation: Balljointed (knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, head), Swivel (cannon, waist (used for transformation), chest (mounted on ball joints, but used as swivels))
Connector: Hybrid 5-3 connector, allows use by figures with 5mm hand holes, and 3mm clips.
    Male Connectors: 3mm clip
Hand size: 5mm hand holes (can wield other weapons, or copies of himself).

Bio: A mass-production unit, each Petal is imbued with a strong sense of loyalty to its superiors. Built as a sentry unit, Petal will protect its charge at any cost, and it is not uncommon to see multiple Petal units acting as a group, each wielding each other along with many other weapons. There is only one situatuon where a Petal unit will turn on its master: When the master should refer to Petal as "she" or "her". In that case, all Petals within range will revolt, with the same undying loyalty to their new cause.

I should probably explain the name and bio. His working name was "Seeker", hence the scope (which sadly ends up on his butt in robot mode [IMG] ). However, i couldn't name him such due to Screamer and co., so i had to find another name. In the end i got bored and during my Chemistry class, i thought of the name Petal. Why?

    Centripetal is "centre seeking/seeker".
    Petal is Seeker.

Hence, his full name is SentryPetal. [IMG]

    Deka

So, i really wanted to prove that two legs isn't always the best thing. Four's too many (sorry zoso!), but three's been used very successfuly by many designs before, the most prominent of course being the Droideka from Star Wars. I really liked the idea of a turret-style robot, with three prongs and a heavily armed upper body. This is my vision of a Transformers version of a Turret Robot, named Deka (If you can't figure out where that name came from...).

As the Fourth Arquesta, Deka carries out his duties very seriously. He is the polar opposite of his 'brother' Evask. Gatling gun or not, Deka never wastes a single bullet. If he fires, 9.9 times out of 10 he'll hit someone (more often than not, it's Evask). He;s been known to go into battle with only the ammo strapped to his chest, just a personal challenge to boost his ego. To his credit, his hit ratio is the highest of the Arqueste, and he isn't dead yet.

For Deka i wanted a much more down to earth, realistic robot. Unlike Evask and Aiuole, who primarily rely on lasers and other futuristic stuff, Deka's Gatling Gun fires regular bullets like the ones on his chest (he can store a whole lot more in the subspace tanks built into his chest). I coloured him in a similar colour scheme to the Droideka, and the heel spurs of the mould were converted into spikes to allow his turret mode to activate in almost any terrain.

i love the designs of the first two!
my only problem is with their actual gun.
i think you should make another with normal thicker guns. not thin null rays or gatling guns.
then maybe you could make just one more with a single barrel gun on him. and maybe change up the chest design just to differentiate between them.

Thanks! I'm glad the robot mode works for ya. The guns i will be making a lot of different variations of, from the futuristic like Aiuole to more realistic ones like Deka. There will be single barreled guns, it's just for this robot twin guns are the standard. When i do make a single barrel weapon, i'll probably redo the robot as well.

Also, I changed up the chest a bit on Deka, and later ones will of course also be made to look unique. :)
