It's been so long since i worked on Petal, my Gun-former. There's really no difference aesthetically in the new version, but all the joints have been replaced with newer systems, except the chest, which uses the old system out of necessity. The transformation was also reworked.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Function: Sentry
    Allegiance: N/A
Height : 60mm (cannon to toes)
Articulation: Balljointed (knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, head), Swivel (cannon, waist (used for transformation), chest (mounted on ball joints, but used as swivels))
Connector: Hybrid 5-3 connector, allows use by figures with 5mm hand holes, and 3mm clips.
    Male Connectors: 3mm clip
Hand size: 5mm hand holes (can wield other weapons, or copies of himself).

Bio: A mass-production unit, each Petal is imbued with a strong sense of loyalty to its superiors. Built as a sentry unit, Petal will protect its charge at any cost, and it is not uncommon to see multiple Petal units acting as a group, each wielding each other along with many other weapons. There is only one situatuon where a Petal unit will turn on its master: When the master should refer to Petal as "she" or "her". In that case, all Petals within range will revolt, with the same undying loyalty to their new cause.

I should probably explain the name and bio. His working name was "Seeker", hence the scope (which sadly ends up on his butt in robot mode [IMG] ). However, i couldn't name him such due to Screamer and co., so i had to find another name. In the end i got bored and during my Chemistry class, i thought of the name Petal. Why?

    Centripetal is "centre seeking/seeker".
    Petal is Seeker.

Hence, his full name is SentryPetal. [IMG]

He'll be up on Shapeways soon, but only available after my Fremble Minions come in, so that i can verify the joint designs work.

EDIT: Shapeways page (not yet available for purchase)

that name is an appalling pun and you should feel bad for making it. for even thinking of making it. in fact, i am almost so disgusted by that pun as to not like petal at all.

be glad that your design is good enough to just barely outweigh the horror of it.

i feel that there should be some emotes to show sarcasm here somewhere, but that would ruin the point. :dunce  have one of these!

    Don't worry, I don't take things very seriously. :)

And I'm glad the design outweighs the bad name. To be fair, though, it's just like Ramrider's Gunslingers: there's no rule that says you have to name it what we call it. In Hasbro's factories, Optimus could be called Bumblebee and we'd all be none the wiser. Call it what you want. ;)

By paying attention in Engineering/Physics class in school.*

I'm posting to say that i have bought the second version of Petal, now that Fremble v4 has arrived to verify the new ball joint system's functionality. As soon as i get mine (maximum 10 working days, so 2 weeks), it'll be available. I took down the original as part of today's shop-cleaning.

*Okay, that's a lie. Like i ever pay attention at school... :lolol
