Here is my take on Rippersnapper. I wanted to add a H. P. Lovecraft touch to him. Hope that comes across.

I am just going to use this thread to compile all the Terrorcon illustrations as I finish them.

I thought this thread was about Overbite when I first glanced at it. In any event, the character design is very nicely done. I really love his expression. Good read, too. :)

Do you plan on collecting the profiles you've done for the Terrorcons into a single thread, as others have done? I'm not complaining, I'm just curious. Personally, I'd like to be able to look at the group all at once.

I gotta say I like this even tho I feel the animated look is getting a bit played to death

Autobotguy: It is. Which officially gives that altmode a limited time of internet relevance, but still... its Sharktopus!

Altitron: I am new here... If it is usual to bunch all of a certain type together I will probably post all the rest together in the future.

MenasorMaster: I was hoping the mask added some Creature of the Black Lagoon-ness to him. That was the idea. I noticed other TF:A artists adding little touches like battle masks and weapons so I jumped on that bandwagon.

Blitz: I know for me personally I found this forum and I am compelled to make this fan art because of the Animated style. I don't foresee me ever posting anything else really. I love the character and personality and fluid line you get with the style. Played to Death or not... I am a big fan. My son and I definitely miss the cartoon.

I wasn't attacking the show so you dont need to jump to its defence (tho I'm clearly not as "hard core" as many others seem to be). I was just commenting on how with so many Animated this and that's this design really stands out.

Also I think your maybe doing your self an injustice by not trying other styles even I've mixed it up in the past. Also you can achieve character and fluid lines with other looks its just more of a challenge with a much bigger pay of when it goes well.

This is just awesome. Rippersnapper looks dangerous in his robot mode, with all the tentacle whips coming out of his arms, and I do get a Lovecraftian feel out of him, especially his altmode (kind of reminds me of Dagon).

One thing bothers me for some strange reason; With Hun-Gurr, I got a sense of where everything went in robot mode (mace becomes head, dragon heads become arms). I still kind of get that with Rippersnapper, but....well, his alt-mode kind of screams Shellformer, but in his robot mode, I feel there are "pieces" missing. (although really, I have no idea why I'm nitpicking. :D  )

This is a great concept and a great re-invention of Ripper-Snapper in a horrific key.
Lovecraftian mood and nods, with the "geometry of dissolution" concept.
And there's more, probably: I think that a similar concept was described by ty The Fallen in "War Within: The Dark Ages".

I don't know why... but when I first saw Whipper Snapper, I thought of Squidward from Spongebob.

    ... Yeah... XD

I've gotta agree with Blitz. here, on each of the many points he makes.

While I strongly encourage you to continue with a certain style (especially since you're creating work that's as stellar as this!), don't pigeonhole yourself into just one style.

Again, I'd like to say that these designs are absolutely brilliant and fun. You really capture the essence of Transformers: Animated :thumb

I really like them all, except Blot's Alt mode. Looks almost exactly like Spittor's.
