Hey, guys, THANKS everyone! Yes, there is more coming: lineart for pages 12-22 is ready, and so are colors for pages 16-22. Evil promotion: DeviantArtists, look for us on DA as well, we have our own page. FaceBookers, become fans of "Seeds Of Deception".
Notes for the "behind the scenes". Page 7. The "Worlds Crossroad Palace" is a new location. So far, we have seen only the interiors. Any artists interested in helping us design the outside of the Palace? We would like to feature it in a one-pager. The various aliens featured here come directly from the background figures of two classic G1 Marvel US issues: #52 "Guess Who The Mecannibals Are Having For Dinner" and #62 "Bird Of Prey!" Well, the Mechannibals are not exactly background figures. Their SoD incarnation is more civilized: they don't eat mechanoids any more. Maybe. Ibai Canales is working on this mystery for an upcoming one-pager. Page 8 This page sets the premises for "Shockwave/soundwave": we get a detailed explanation of the Incubation Storehouse purpose and of Nova's plans. And Sentinel Prime foresees the battles that will come, just like the one that Soundwave fights on the World Of Ryotonok. Nova Prime devised a multi-stages conquest of the galaxy based on phases like "Infiltration" and "Colonization". "Colonization" is new, but I wonder where IDW Megatron got his idea for the Decepticon six-stages conquest plan. "Instruments Of Destruction" is a common term in cybertronian parlance, because it refers to a mythical set of items (see the hystorical file for the "Decadionic Swords"). The "new Generation" Protoforms are of course G1 characters. Most of them are new mechanoids, but among the Protoforms there are many recycled Spark Cores who have already lived long and eventful lives (Dynobots and Predacons, for instance). The Protoform Army is based on concepts described in "Beast Wars". Jhiaxus, scientific advisor of Nova Prime, was of course behind this project (just another in his endless list of twisted ideas: Gestalts, Females...) The four faces in the Stasis Pods: Grimlock, Trannis, Ironhide, Magnus (without the Ultra prefix) Page 9 Some panels of Omega's flashback were used to create Mosaic "Bitter Harvest", with colors by Eman B. Zubia. The Mosaic was sent in "the present of Nova Prime", hence the "normal" colors. Omega' platoon: Kup, Cyclonus, Omega (younger, without the "Supreme" title), Grindcore, a nameless mech based on Energon Wingsaber (I think). Cyclonus has been depicted as a cybertronian patriot in "Spotlight: Cyclonus". That's why we picked him for this platoon. Kup is another old mech around since forever. Grindcore appeared in "Devastation" and "Revelation". Ships and aliens in the last panels are Peter's tribute to Star Wars : Queen Amigdala's nubian corvettes. Page 10 The Guardian Platoon can fly in space. Kup has a small jetpack to do that. Page 11 Just like Jhiaxus and Cyclonus, Straxus too has been reimagined for the "Devastation"/"Revelation" saga. He built "colonies" in the galaxy: a vague nod to Battlestar Galactica. There is a young Shockwave already around, here! In panel 2, Omega displays his wide arsenal of weapons, but does NOT use them against his fellow mechs. Omega's characterization and moral dilemma come from "Spotlight: Optimus Prime". Following the basis laid by Simon Furman, we want to put Expansion against Isolation, but highlight the flaws in both these radical choices. And finally, Nova Prime. The last and most important mech in the "Dead Universe" cast makes his quick appearance. Follow his story in "Devastation", "Revelation" and other books written by Furman for IDW. The last panel shows (again) the commemorative bas-relief seen in page 2 (and in page 1 of "Shockwave/Soundwave").
Always a pleasure to see another chapter of your work. Kudos to everyone involved. I especially enjoy all the little nods and ties to established IDW cannon... makes it feel more rewarding to have read their stuff.
Thanks! Let's just hope they don't start exploring this age too soon... Ultra Impactor is already a trouble himself, and we've started a new subplot to try and include the Wreckers concepts here ^^'
