Over the past twenty-five years or so I had myself convinced that I can't draw. Somewhere in the past few weeks I decided to just pick up a pencil, grab some paper, and get to it. I've been jotting in a sketch pad every night for the last few days and have a few things shaping up in ways that make me realize, "can't" is really just a mindset. Just the pencils for now, but I'll be coming back with inks and colors soon. I'm starting with small parts and working my way up. My first post was just a face. This is just a little bit more. Not perfect, but a far cry from "can't draw." More to come. EDIT: Quick digital colors on the face while I wait for my supplies to get here. I plan on doing this on drafting film later and coloring in the real world, but this passed the time until then and gave me a rough idea of highlights and shades. Unfortunately I did this at a really high resolution and some of the lines got lost or blurred when I scaled it down.
Edited first post to add a quick digital coloring of just the face part of the pic. Will have "real" color work later. And thanks for the comments! You'll be seeing more soon.
