I haven't updated my overall collection thread in a few years, but after a few recent additions I wanted to showcase a particular sub-collection -- Cosmos. As many know I have a soft spot for the under-loved little guy, so I've slowly accumulated a few figures each year in an effort to troop build him.

The line-killer gets some well deserved love.......nice collection.

Looks great! Army building the little invader is the best thing ever. Now you need a set of Sgt. Frog toys and make the perfect collection!

 

Man, I cannot find a Cosmoo for the life of me. Awesome collection!

It's really neat to see Cosmos love here. I've always enjoyed the G1 figure, and it's been an absolute shame that the character hasn't gotten more love in new toys than he has.  

 

I'm curious, what is it exactly that draws you to Cosmos? Is it the character, the alt. mode or something else?

 

In good news, the new Legends is arguably the best to date. Biases aside, it's *really* nice for the price point.

Had him as a kid, and the impression that I've always had is that he was one of the original shelf-warmers. He was also a bit dumpy, which adds to his appeal and makes troop building him even more unexpected and fun.

Plus, UFO's are rad.

which is the one with the regular Autobot symbol where the rest have rubs? I have one with "Hasbro 1984" on the underside. if any of you have any thoughts on that, I'd surely appreciate a response.

 

Mine that's stickered was vintage where the rub had been ruined so I put a repro on it.

Any chance yours is the KO? I'm away from mine at the moment, so I can't compare easily. The KO doesn't come with a rub or stickers, but the chest sticker on yours looks like it could be a reprolabel. The arms are misassembled in the package, but are easy to correct:

A few of the clues that point me towards KO

- Rough mold flash on top of the head and on the yellow bits on the arms
- The divot in the middle of the forehead -- present on KO, not on vintage
- Very clean metal on the pins holding the wheels to the body. Most vintage are dulled by time at this point.

Another dead giveaway is the face, which is much less crisp on the KO

 

 

Aww your Cosmos collection looks great! It's so nice to see the little green space roomba get more love. He's rather high on my Autobots wish list.

What on earth is a Cos-moo?
