Okay, so the idea of this thread is the same as the one I started for FP Brut, to share ideas for any different options (combinations, mistransformations, fanmodes, add-ons, etc.) that you've discovered. It would be great to see some options for faction symbol placement as well.

So if you have done something different with any of the individual stunticons (or with Diesel when he finally arrives, or Intimidator when we're finally able to complete him), in any and all of their modes (alt, bot, combined), please share it here. Also, any tips on making transformation or combination easier should also be posted here as well. And include pics whenever possible!

I've already got at least one thing to share for each of the 4 limb-bots, so I'll do a rundown of each one like I did in the Brut thread, starting with...

    Last Chance (Dead End)

First I'd like to start off with everyone's least favorite part about this mold, the feet. Here is FP's standard configuration for his feet from a few different angles...

Honestly, I don't think they are as bad as I thought when I saw them initially. That being said, they are pretty weak.

A little too wide compared to the folded up legs for me personally. No real toes jutting out in front and those fold out heels work well but they look kinda crappy.

So I tried a couple of things...

First I tried rotating the feet on the ball joint outward for this effect...

Makes the feet even wider than before, but only slightly more "toe"...

Puts the fold out heels directly behind for more stability, but over all I didn't really like the results.

So my next idea was to rotate the foot on the ball joint, but in the opposite direction...

I fold out the heel spur just slightly (towards the instep) to look and act sorta like a big toe. Kinda gives it that "ninja boot" look with the 4 small toes grouped together and the big toe isolated.

Now what used to be the toes area of the foot becomes the outer foot, and what used to be the outer foot becomes the heel.

You still get all the stability you need in the toe and heel, so he doesn't fall forward or back. And it even seems to free up even more range of motion for the ankle ball joint giving even more ankle articulation.

Plus, at least IMHO, it just looks a lot better.

One other thing I'd like to mention, and it is prevalent on Down Force too, is the leg transformation robs the figure of a lot of the knee joint's range of motion.

So instead of folding the rear quarter panel onto the calf of the leg as FP intended (as you can see in the above pic), I just leave it in this position...

You're able to get a lot more bend in this position, although it does leave a big hollow spot that the intended transformation covers up well...

But as you can see in this pic, you still get a big hollow spot on the side of the leg with the FP intended config...

Finally, just a couple of pointers for transformation...

    1) If you get him in car mode and there are big time clearance issues with his crotch scraping the ground, just push the entire pelvis in. There was a big KA-CHUNK when I did it to mine, but it is meant to collapse.

    2) When transforming the arms, make sure to rotate the fists so that the thumb/fingers are showing and not the top of the hand. There is a notch in the top of the fist that will peg in to help line everything up.

Overall, I must say I like this guy a ton! Probably #2, if not my favorite of the group so far. I like the transformation a lot, and absolutely LOVE the paint and mold colors. Everything just POPS! With the alternate foot and leg configs shown here I think he may be damn near perfect. Also, I have to say that I appreciate the gun storage in botmode a lot. It inspired me to find botmode gun storage for the rest of the group as well.

So I guess I'll be working my way backwards and try to post some stuff I found for Down Force (Drag Strip) next. Until then, I hope that others chime in with their thoughts and any improvements they have thought of as well.

And here is a link to the FP Brut thread...

... just in case you missed it.

Great idea for a thread, and that foot config does look better. The thing that bugs me about this guy is that his legs seem ever slightly too long, especially in comparison to his arms, but apart from that he's awesome, hopefully mine's arriving today :)

Cool, when we have Diesel in hand I'll be the first one to test out all the fan modes for configuring him, especially with regards to the shin bots. Right now all I have is these two ideas:
This one is more just a modification of the basic car ready for plugging on, the rear and front of the cars are disassembled similar to Don Figuero's design for them.

This second one is a "hope this works" more advanced idea of me having more or less converted him in to arm mode but then having the "forearm" rotated back up. I suspect he'll either be too loose or have a clearance issue of some kind like this but theirs a chance it could work.

    I'm going with a variation on the first, same dealio with the toes, the way there's a little nick taken out of the windshield makes me think that it's meant to be, but also just seperating the arms and legs slightly and pulling out the waist a little bit, just a mm or two to break up the car, also;

    DownForce leg mode

I like the fanmode limb options so far. Looks like a lot of different configs are possible. Of course we won't know what works and what doesn't until we get the big guy in hand (BRING ON THE PREORDERS!!!), but still fun to see what these molds are capable of.

One thing though sarn, due to the hexagonal hole and the orientation of the other two round peg holes, seems to me that DF's legmode will need to be rear bumper towards the knees and front bumper pointing toward Menasor's feet.

    Keep 'em coming guys!

It's by far the best angle imo.

Stolen from Scout Breakdown. I felt he needed one.

Would it be possible to mistransform DFs front fenders in arm mode down to his sides more?

Absolutely. Lots of joints to play with. You could do the same as I've done for leg mode, or fiddle with it other ways to make it look good for you.

To differentiate Breakdown and Wildrider more, I flip the backpack flap up on Wildrider to give him a more hooded look in robot mode while not folding in the wheels all the way for Breakdown. It doesn't hurt shoulder articulation more than the really weird arm detail that already blocks upward shoulder movement on Wildrider. I still don't know what's up with that as Breakdown has so much more range on his arm joints.

Yeah, there are so much moving pieces in there, you could probably find something that works for you. I came up with a couple, one obvious and one not so obvious ,with the head lights not on the shoulder.

I like it! I had the same thought, but with a different execution. I'll show pics in my next post about T-Bone.

But for now let's get started with...

    Down Force (Drag Strip)

I've got a couple different configs for the shoulders, and couple more for the legs. First I guess we'll start off with the shoulders. Here is FP's standard config...

It doesn't look bad to me really, but it interferes with the bicep swivel a bit. Though most of the shoulder configs do.

Now here are the fanmodes for the shoulders and legs that I use. The shoulder is pretty simple in that you just swing the front spoiler from on top to the side.

It frees up the bicep swivel and I like the smoother profile too. As for the alternate foot transformation, it is only slightly more complicated.

Here you can see that the left leg (on the right of the screen) is transformed like FP intended, and the right leg is done in the config I prefer...

...and a pic of how they differ from behind.

Now here is a pic of the FP config from the side, first fully extended...

..and now bent as far as it can fold...

    and a rear view.

Now a pic of the fanmode I use, fully extended...

..and a side view of it bent...

    ...and from behind.

Not only does the new leg transformation give you a lot more range of motion, it also is a much more stable foot config because there is now an edge for the heel as opposed to the rounded wheel. Although the FP config worked well enough, he still had the tendancy to fall backward every now and again.

The only negative I can see it does leave the calf hollow, same as the leg mod on LC.

You can rotate the wheels back into the altmode position to cover this up a bit...

...but again hinders the knee's range of motion.

So that covers the leg transformations, now here is the other shoulder config I promised. Here you can see how I moved the headlights from on top of the shoulders to behind them.

It really frees up the arm articulation almost completely. The biceps can swivel and the outwards shoulder motion is no longer obstructed.

And the headlights and spoiler coming out the back of each shoulder ends up kinda looking like a set of wings or something.

I thin it looks pretty cool, and I love that it frees up the range of motion of the shoulder, but I personally prefer the look of the headlights on the shoulder myself. So I can understand that this one won't be for everyone.

The down side is it exposes the shoulder's ball joint.

Now with the alternate transformations covered, lets wrap it all up with some options for gun storage in botmode.

First off you can easily plug his gun into the hole on the side of either thigh, like so...

...he can sort of reach for it but can't grasp the handle of course...

Next up is my preferred storage option, in the windshield on his back.

And he has enough range of motion to place it there, though just short of grabbing it...

Okay, so I guess that's it for DF. Sorry for the huge pic dump. lol I was just trying to show a lot of angles to make it easier to figure out the transformations, in case anyone is interested trying them out.

So next up I'll probably do both Car Crash and T-Bone together since they are so much alike, and I haven't found as much stuff on the first two as I have on the most recent ones.

Yep. Going to have to adopt some of those configurations. Awesome work.

Been fiddling with my stunticons all night in anticipation for Last Chance. I have to say my opinion of stock Downforce has fallen further since he's a nightmare fiddling with the arm clutter and the shoddy leg support when not in a dynamic pose. I'll think I'm going to copy the legs for stability and just to free up his knee range. I did use the look of the arm kibble swept to the back, but didn't think to move the headlights. I also noticed the windshield storage but mine got stuck for about 5 minutes until I managed to get the gun to unpeg. The leg holster might just work out better.

I should mention that I fold down the double joint on the backpack flap with Notrider so it doesn't arc way over his head. His moving back shoulder bits are sometimes infuriating to move around though. Hell all of them so far simply way too fiddly for their own good. Mostly with transformation, but certainly bits in robot mode. Last Chance looks like he's the literal last chance for a less frustrating figure. From just my observation he looks to be a breath of fresh air since his botmode design doesn't have anything banging around with everything nice and mostly locked into place. He comes in tomorrow so I'll know sooner or later. I'll get pictures in the morning of the whole car gang doing some fun stuff.

I'm glad you found some stuff you can use Tiller. That was my whole point for starting this thread. Let me know if you have any questions or anything.

I probably won't be able to take any pics of CC & TB today, due to work and all. Hopefully tomorrow though.

Totally agree with you, he does indeed need one...I had plans of doing something similar, but I don't know anymore...

Do you have plans to show some alt arm configs?...since it's pretty clear how they attach to Diesel, I don't think he's necessary for playing around with arm configs...

Have you considered a collage type photo editing method?...something where you could place pics in groups and lable them?

I really like the look of the wing that sarn hooked up on CC. If you do the same, do you think you could snap a couple of pics for a "How to" for this thread?

Personally, I was planning on holding off until Notormaster arrives to see what I can come up with. But I look forward to seeing whatever anyone else can come up with. The alt leg configs that have been shown so far have definite potential. Makes me even more restless to get the Diesel in hand.

My only excuse for not doing it is, I don't know how...  If I did I would totally do it that way.

    Glad you like them man!

If I decide to keep them, yeah...:)

Haha, sorry...if you're using an iPad it's really easy, just download a free collage app...if not, it may be equally easy on other forms of, uh, computing devices(?), but only using this stupid thing, I don't know...
