*HD meaning it can produce 720p playback, but on a 480 x 272 OLED screen. Gizmodo - Zune HD Is Real, Has Multitouch Web Browsing, OLED Screen and HD Video - Zune
GAH! everything these days has HD slapped onto it... It claims that it supports HD Radio. HD Radio IS NOT HIGH DEF! It's just DIGITAL. Sound quality is the SAME. You just get digital information along with the audio signal... That rant wasn't geared as much towards the media player as it was the whole HD craze... Anyway, on topic, this player is definately good looking, but can it hold up to the touch? I may buy it just cause it has radio capabilities, which the touch and iphone don't have. Other than that, as long as it has 16GB or more memory, and can play back 320kb/s songs (some MP3 players can't >_<) I may just want this thing.
Albiet very nice, I have enough with the Iphone and PSP, I have too many damn gadgets. What's the word on its game capabilities?
There's an App for that. Multiple ones even. Dunno about the HD thing, but you said that was a play on words anyway
I kinda used it this weekend... Well sort of.. We went to drive-in theater, and you had to tune in with your car radio, well i wanted to save battery so I tried to use the tuner, but I only found local stations and not that particular frequency, so maybe it was a WEB tuner. Hell my little Walman MP3 has a tuner, but that's still not enough for me to have three media gadgets. I have enough drama with the PSP and Iphone.
how the heck are they passing 480 x 272 off as hd? is anyone actually going to get the docking station to play 720p video off of an mp3 player rather than resize their movies to 480 x 272 to optimize space on the thing?
i suppose all you really have to do is display something at a roughly 16:9 aspect ratio and loads of people who don't know any better will assume that it's HD as soon as you tell them that it is. maybe i should start selling people legal sized paper for their printers and tell them that it's HD paper.
You'd be surprised how easy it might be to get away with that. We produce spots for people in 16X9 aspect, and they go and tell their friends that the spots are produced in HD.
