I know there was a thread awhile ago for this game, but with search disabled it's kinda impossible to dig up if it still exists from months back. I completely forgot about it's release. Then I got into wally world this week and see it stocked already, to my surprise. And it comes with a metal gear rising: revengeance demo also. Picking up my copy at bestbuy today cause I had some paypal funds to chew. Really looking forward to this since I never got into the originals on ps2.
Got the special edition and Okami HD this week. Both represent some of the best games I have ever played. Up there with Ocarina and Colossus for me.
With all the money I'm spending on TFs, halo 4, and recently AC3, I don't know if I can get this game now. To anyone that has this game: how are the graphics? Are they improved over the PS2 versions?
Yeah I totally didn't realize this had come out this week. Just topped by the store on my way home from work and picked this up. Can't wait to play it! k. So just popped it in. Kinda wish something would a been done with the cinematics, but I suppose that's a lot to ask for. They're exactly the same and do look kinda terrible.(as far as the first game goes anyway) But the gameplay. Oh boy. So sharp and crisp! I'm lovin it
Also, the metal gear rising demo is insane. Can be kinda frustrating that theres no blocking and I didn't really realize til the boss fight that in order to parry (which it flashes the buttons youre supposed to hit) you have to time it just right I order for it to work. I died a good half a dozen times or so But its kinda nifty tho
I'm super excited for these games since I never got to play them on Ps2. Picked up my collectors edition on release day. One of only two collectors the store even got. However.......... since ACIII and Okami HD also came out this week, I figure it's a good month, minimum, before I get around to touching ZoE. When it rains, it pours, right? But yeah, man that collectors edition is gorgeous. I usually don't care about 'extra' packaing. But the whole thing went on my gameshelf. Case and all. That gold foil is too pretty to toss.
so glad this came out, for a few short hours I had a gap in my ZOE Collection. also I had a friend whip this up for anyone else who wants it. since once again a game that should by all rights be rated "T" gets an "M" rating due to the packed in demo.
collectors edition looks kinda cleaned out in my area. was gonna try to exchange the normal edition if bestbuy had them in stock, but oh well. I don't buy collectors editions often but this one looked solid for $60. I'll be fine with the base games though
Really wanted to pick this up but the terrible frame-rate makes me really hesitant. Sure it's not on the same level as the Silent Hill HD collection but it's no where near quality of the MGS one either.
ZOE2 was rated M on PS2. I think it was mainly for the cutscenes as I don't recall anything worthy of an M rating in the gameplay. Although the cutscenes weren't really that bad (at least not compared to today's M rated games) if I remember correctly.
I've never played ZOE but I REALLY want the MGR demo. Was going to pick this up figuring I'd enjoy ZOE (being both a mecha and Kojima fan generally) but the reported framerate issues has me hesitant. Really want that MGR demo now though...
i remember ZOE mainly because I wanted to bitch slap the kid every time he spouted off about "Killing is wrong.." Kid it is war and they are trying to kill you. SHOOT THE F***ER!!!
Isn't our protagonist something like, 15, in the first one. He's probably not grasped the more complicated issues surrounding war and death and as a child probably has an inbuilt aversion to killing someone. That's the issue with following someone on their path to become a badass; they hardly ever start that way and the molding process is usually really unpleasant. It is also pretty standard anime protagonist starting point so, whatever, the mecha combat is the best I've played.
The first game is very gundam. Young kid accidentally finds mech, turns out to be the only one to pilot it. Fights and kills dudes pretty good but goes on about how killing is bad and I'm so emo. Kinda curious why kojima went with that trope but can't argue with the fun game play and interesting designs
I was completely surprised to see it there when I picked up AC3. I don't know- I liked the first one but felt it was too short and I never got around to playing the second. So, I'm remotely interested but not enough at the moment to buy it. I do recall, if you don't mind a moment of immaturity, how the robot had to get an erection before taking off in the cinematics.
GET IT!...The MG: Rising Demo is Amazing!! and the ZOE games are Great too (having never played the original ps2 versions)...framerate issues be damned!!! at least it's not the abomination that is called the "Silent Hill HD Collection"
