This is what I have been working on in my spare time recently. I am a huge fan of Zoids, but mainly for parts fodder. I picked this guy up long ago, on clearance, and could never bring myself to part him out. Recently I decided to repaint him (his grey and silver were just a little too drab!) He also marks my first LED work. I wired LEDs into his two shuttle bays, and also to show through the engine vents. The effect is pretty cool in person! He has a ton of detail, and features, but I will let the pics speak for themselves! He will be up on E-bay starting tomorrow. Enjoy!
Aw man, Draven's gonna LOVE this. Awesome work. It's always refreshing to see Zoids in new colors with painted details. The plain plastic parts, even with washes, just don't do their sculpts enough justice.
HOLYYY!!! CRAP!! ZOIDS!!!! i used to have this wen i was younger!!!! oh god i miss them.. i believe i also had a Unicorn and a gorilla? or some kinda monkey one lol! these were insane back then.. man.. now that i think of them. these do make good kibble for transformers! lol gj on the paint job.. looks INSANE! man. brings back memories
BEAUTIFUL detail and paint work! This is the life Zoids are meant to have, and yeah, that kit's a beauty, I can never slice up the really good kits either (well not unless I have a few spares ) D/L
This is really awesome. Never seen this before and you took tons of good pictures. Keep up the great work!
man i have one of those that i bought in a flea market (came in a huge garbage bag ) LOL love your work !! the paint scheme rocks this guy(or girl i didnt look under the hood ) it was assemeld or u paint it on a sprue?
Is Draven a Zoids fan? Never knew. The sculpts on these are almost always amazing! If I impress you, I know I did a good job! He was purchased withthat intention, but then I fell in love with the kit itself! I have a Black Horn that is begging me to do the same paint up to him! I had already assembled it long ago (and stupidly threw out the instructions!) Had to take pics as I took him apart so I could remenber exactly how to get hiom back together! I was going for a massive, powerful look, and envisioned him as a desert fighter. I painted dust and soot around his ankles, imagining that he had to walk through the burning wreckage he had created! As always, thanks for the great comments guys!
That thing figure looks outstanding. I remember having one as a kid... I thought the airstrip on its back was the coolest thing in the world. I used to have it fight my Transformers all the time - pretending it was a human super-weapon built to fight them. So you think you can make it transform like Sludge? ^_o That'd be sweet. ~Z
I do in fact have some Zoids, but their not as complex as this monster. I think it was something Blok/Block, but their still cool.
