"Ever wanted to army build Vehicons? Just couldn't justify buying multiples of the same toy? What about if you could turn your Vehicon into a drill?

The Zirca Upgrade set is designed to convert a Legion Vehicon figure from a sports car to a drill-tank. The conversion is entirely reversible; all parts attach and detach via existing 3mm ports on the figure. The Zirca kit includes a drill designed to fit over the front of Vehicon's car mode, along with two treads to attach to the sides of the car. The treads are designed to plug into the arms whole, instead of being split between the arm and leg to avoid modifying the stock figure in any way. The Zirca treads have been made to allow Vehicon's vehicle mode to roll using the existing wheels after conversion.

Zirca's 3mm pegs make the drill a handheld weapon, compatible with most Legion figures (and anything else with a 3mm clip, for that matter)."

    :lol

I wish I had the funds to army build Deluxe class figures! I'm sticking to Legions for now, because it's cheaper to army build them. :D

Thanks Hoptimus. I'm considering Jet Vehicon parts for Legion Vehicon (as if I really need to buy more of these :lol ), but it all depends on whether Zirca is well received or not. If this one becomes popular, I won't rule out a Jet conversion. :)

    Pretty neat.

For the Jet Vehicon conversion, why not have it be the blocky nosecone on the front 3mm tab that becomes some sort of blaster and the wings as one molded piece per side?

I was pulling up this page and when I took of my glasses to clean them I had a bit of double vision. It looked like a twin drill car and then I thought Twin Twist. It was wierd, yet it worked.

You made a good drill tank

Wow! This is really sick! And it works perfectly as well. I've never ordered anything off of Shapeways before; which plastic do you reccomend?

    This.

Given there's already a Jet and Car toy at Deluxe, I wouldn't rule out a drill version later on. I'll probably hold off on a Deluxe one since i think an official one is still a possibility. :)

    Thanks. :)

Oh man, now I got no excuse not to make this! I'll probably go with the wings as being one piece each. The nosecone I'm not so sure.

As long as Rumble's red, sure. :thumb

    Thanks Fallout. :)

There's a 95% chance that I'll give in to the pressure one day and make a Nosecone.

Of course, 5% isn't too unlikely either. ;)

Aw man, as if I need more ideas bro! You'll drain my wallet dry. Then again, with the drills acting as hand-held weapons, a Twin Twist upgrade kit would be pretty cool...

...oh but then I'd need a Topspin to go with him...

...are you just trying to destroy my stash of disposable income? :lol

*scratches off Zirca from his own list of stuff he needs to save for*

*realises there's still a lot to go*

    ;)

Cool! I'd love to see what you could do with it. :thumb

Maybe. Jet's tempting, but...I need to find a third Legion Vehicon first. ;)

    Thanks! :)

Thanks 5ky7ynx86. Off Shapeways, I recommend any of their Strong and Flexible materials (usually White Strong and Flexible, also known as WSF as its the cheapest). Their Frosted Detail and Frosted Ultra Detail are what I would go for if I needed more detail, but they're more expensive. The pictures in this thread all show a Zirca print in WSF.

Gotta say no on this one. I made the treads to plug into Vehicon one way, for ease of assembly. I've seen a digibash with the treads split into two sections each to move part of it onto the legs, but I wanted this kit to require zero modification to the actual toy, so it's one piece. :)

Thanks! The Shapeways server is down currently, and I don't think it'll be back up for at least 4 days, according to the email I got from Shapeways. As their servers are located in New York state, Hurricane Sandy has taken its toll. At least their staff are okay (again, according to their email), so the most important thing's been assured. :)

It's a good method of achieving great results, with little excess. why change from a system that works! If you detailing's as good on that as this, I'd buy it!

not as hard as you might think. I said I was gonna stop at 3,
i'm now at 5. With upgrade s like this, I can see that number rising.
