So, just bought all five Zeta Arielbots from BBTS at Flat rate shipping. Should I expect them within 2 weeks?

 

Depends on where you are but yes it should definitely be inside if two weeks. My orders from BBTS usually take 6 to 8 days and only because FedEx is so freakin' slow.

 

Arghhh...I'm trying to hold out for an eBay flash sale to pick up the three I need...but the temptation to just order them from BBTS is getting to be too much. I just know the minute I place the order eBay will announce their sale.
Seeing all these great Superion pics is just making it more difficult to wait.

BBTS flat rate shipping takes about 9 or 10 days to reach me. The slowness isn't due to Fedex alone per se. It's because the cheaper slow shipping uses Fedex Smartpost IIRC. Fedex handles most of the shipment then gets handed over to the local USPS post office for final delivery the day before it gets delivered. This is why it is so slow.

I got the last two limbs (including Downthrust) from ShowZ web store. They've had them all in stock for weeks now. Plus they are cheaper than BBTS.

 

Handing it off to USPS isn't what makes it slow - that's the quickest part of the whole process. What makes it slow is FedEx - it's not enough that they just deprioritize smart post shipments; they actually deliberately delay them. My shipments always get here within a few days but then FedEx holds them at their facility for 3-4 days before handing it over to USPS. Once they've handed it over, USPS never fails to get it to me the very next day.

 

Finally got to pose him in my display. Lovin' ...this figure!

 

Added some chromed eyes to bring more "life" to his previously dead eyes... contemplating painting his mouth/nose area gunmetal to better match the toon... hmmm.

 

The beginning of my improvements on Superion....

 

The blue looks good. I went with gold for g1 toy look.

 

I prefer gold as well. I used gold foil tape to get the mirror/chrome look.

 

My different phases of displaying the Kronos team. I like all modes but combined is probably the best. He is nice. Kudos to all the customizers out there great work.

 

G1 is a good reason. I just chose gold because Omega Supreme has blue chrome, Skyfire has blue (matte on X, chome on regular), Bruticus has red chrome, and Devastator has red as well, so gold helped it be a little more unique and went well with his color scheme.  

 

I'm seriously loving the gold, blue, and red chrome y'all are putting on his eyes. I haven't been able to bring myself to combine them until I see what's going on with FT and also being torn between how to paint Superion's visor   In my head, Autobots have blue eyes, except Superion and Metroplex (damn it).

 

I like the dinobots with red eyes too, for that toy/comic look. Plus I kind of like the notion that Grimlock is closer to a Decepticon than an Autobot but chose to align with the Autobots anyway.

 

Finally got my set completed today... will be building Superion this weekend.

Him is KING, after all!   Tho I did switch FT Grimmy to blue eyes.

No, but Soundwave and Megs had yellow... probably some others, too, but I didn't have but a few of the first G1 wave of cons.

 

I don't think any cons ever had blue. Like ph4zed said, there were several with yellow in the comics and toys. In fact I think almost everybody had yellow eyes in the comic, at least early on.

 

I searched online, only found 2007 movie Frenzy had blue eyes among Decepticon.
