I don't think you're right. Those proportions aren't lining up right for Predaking's ab, waist to thigh area. There is clearly going to be parts forming regarding the feet because on the back right foot, that looks like Zeta's typical attachment method for their combiners. I bet the hands slide on too with a peg attachment.

I think it's way too early to say "You clearly see it's not going to be parts forming."

 

Let's face it, could be a pair of pants with fake feet on it. Seems like Zeta has found something that works for them, pantsforming I mean. Looks like it will be a nice looking Predaking. I am getting in on Cang Toys Predaking, but if this beats that out and looks as good as the render does, I may get this instead.

I should have been specific as I was only talking about the pants aspect, which they've also said on weibo they want to move away from. I think there was a pic of that somewhere in the thread but not 100% sure.
But feel free to believe what you want.

 

Until we see an actual 3D render or prototype we won't know if they decided to push on without pants forming.

Ughh still no updates on this... Had my hopes up for this and their Raiden but looks like Fanstoys Menasor shall be my only MP combiner for now...

 

Hopefully we will get an update after CNY.

On the other note, I once read somewhere that Predaking is an unstoppable gestalt, not unless your name is SkyLynx. Then I stumble on this one, a gestalt Sky Reign that includeSkyLynx. I again hope that Zeta have this on their combiners list.

 

Hmm. I only heard of Sky Reign recently and am not familiar with the media in which he appears. It would be nice to have a Sky Lynx figure though (other than the MMC one, which I have heard is not MP scale)

 

Too recent of a gestalt to consider. They would probably work on Defensor or Piranacon after Predaking and Raiden.

I'm on the hunt for a new Predaking since my Jinbao one is clunky and not really poseable. I absolutely missed searching/hearing Zeta was going to make one. I am interested in the look of the Cang Toys one, but seems a little pricey at almost $100 per bot - and looks like there may be a 6th with the Gorilla? I'll have to keep this in mind over time as I keep searching for updated CangToys pics.

 

Well if ya think about it, they may have a sixth members, but for combiners like fanstoys, the leader, or motormaster, is like twice the cost of the others. If two bots work to form one torso, than hypothetically, they should be the same price as other team members

No doubt these are beautiful… But INCREDIBLY stylized. I'm not even sure what "scale" this is in… but I think it would clash too much with regular MPs.

 

I’m not sure, because you said “these”, but I think you have these confused with Cang Toys’ version, which is pictured in the post that you quoted. Which is why I’m really not a fan of how jumbled and confusing these threads tend to get

@Arthimuz Prime The Cang Toys figures look nice for what they are, but if they were the only things out there I'd just keep my Feral Rex set. They don't look much like Predacons to me. "Loosely inspired by" is more like it. Kind of reminds me of the more recent TCF stuff, especially their Terrorcons; they kind of look like the characters, but with a unique spin and heavily stylized. I don't think it scratches any itch for an MP Predacon set. Zeta's figures aren't perfect but they've hewed much closer to the source than this, and I'm hoping that their Predacons will follow that trend. I'm with you that I'd really like to see some progress on them! Seems like they got set aside in Zeta's thirst to show up TT's Unicron.
